Omicron is an anagram of moronic

It finally happened, a more contagious but less deadly strain of everybodies favourite coronavirus has hit the streets. By all accounts it is a giant nothing-burger of a virus, with barely any symptoms to speak of. We should be rejoicing rather than cowering in our homes, but the media is hard at work cranking the handle to turn out as much fear porn as they can.

I wonder how long it will be before it starts getting blamed for a massive uptick in heart attacks and strokes? Not that I am saying that I think it will cause them, just that it is a likely candidate for the blame.

Remember when the inevitable uptick occurs, and the talking heads on the telly start clucking over Omicron and reminding you to get your omicron shot and your delta booster, that the uptick had started before the emergence of this new patsy, even in places that haven't had any covid outbreaks to speak of. That is right folks, most Australian states have barely had any Covid due to the draconian lockdowns, but they have all seen a massive uptick in hospital admissions. Listen to Mark McGowan (WA premier) try to blame the surge in hospital admissions on a delayed effect of covid infection, despite most Australian states never having any substantial community transmission.

Journalists should have called him on this idiocy instantly, but they are too well aware of what happens when you ask uncomfortable questions of our lords and masters.

I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers that can't be questioned.
