In already three months from today Hivefest edition number 7 (especially for arcange not nummer 6 hehe) in Amsterdam will be finished for already. What a short time to entirely set up an event! And also what a cool think to thinking about is where to stay and what we all can do there as activities during the Amsterdam stay. Because even though I am from Holland, Amsterdam is still a different world to me, and I am medium familiar over there.
So safe to say, I will be acting like a tourist as well during my Hivefest stay and joining in with the others with most likely staying at the hotels of preference close to the venue.
As always I am shocked what you pay and get for in Amsterdam for these prices. One of the venues where it is possible to stay is at the Volkshotel. Although I am very fond of how this place looks (it is just fun), I am also shocked to see the prices for a room with for instance a shared bathroom. I love yall..but not in the mornings ;)
I also saw some houseboats for the same price and that means you are living on the water then. Honestly, maybe that will be it as it seems like a lot of fun to have my stay at Hivefest on the water. But I also like hanging around in the hotel with people...this needs some thought still.
Even though sleeping at home 150 kms down the road should be an option, with the activities and the feeling of a weekend getaway, this surely isn't a real option for me I would say. Sleeping in the city it is.
The whole idea of meeting up again with some likeminded people at a conference seems just really fun again. When I think of it, I have been spending almost 5 years on the big board already learning stuff, producing stuff (nothing useful) and just hanging around.
That's actually a really long time, and it realy makes sense to meet up with people again who are also involved in the bigger picture and just have a good time with y'all. Also, a weekend in Amsterdam is never a bad thing as there is always something to do, and when thinking about the other Hivefest editions, I am sure Roeland has some cool ideas on stuff for us all to do and where to go and what to eat.
So the big question prior to will be....Don't care about the room, and just use it as a place to sleep with nothing else (which probably will end up being the case, because Hivefest is exhausting...Or...
Take the blue pill and chill in the boat for a good one!
