A lovely sunshine day.

During the power cut we visited one of my favorite farms to get some beautiful birds.

I know you will not see the bird above in the center of the photo, but I did :)

We visited the Lourensford Wine Estate and it is birders paradise, as the wild little beauties are all over the place. How well do I remember the first time that we visited, and my mistake of running after the little birds to try to get them on my camera. A big mistake, as all that one has to do is to stand still at one of the Krantz Aloes (yellow flowers) and then to patiently wait. Soon, the little birds will arrive and then one can take quick photos of them. Quick, as they sit only for a few seconds, but it is enough time to get the shots in.
Tell me if I did okay today with the photos.

Here he is and it is a Malachite Sunbird.

And here below is the Malachite's wife.

Clearly showing his beautiful metallic colors.

This is the rare Amethyst Sunbird. Rare to get on camera because they are very shy birds and can disappear at any moment.

I was lucky to get two shots of him.

Here below is a couple of Cape Bulbuls.

And finally, it was time to depart as we knew that the power cut was finished and that's why I placed this post now.

Oh yes, the continual power cuts every day are very bad for our economy, small businesses are forced to close their doors and shut down. Empty shops are all over the place. The bigger businesses are also losing millions in trade.
It is in nature where we find solace and we can prepare ourselves for the next expected power cut at 8pm tonight. It will last until 10:30 and then I will return to do the final replies.
It is certainly a different lifestyle, but we cope and we survive the vagaries of life. I personally think it is a test and it builds one's character. Not to panic or to cry, or to moan, but simply to get on with life as best as one can.

And That's All Friends.
