Easily create your own Lightning Address image

Lightning Address creation

A few weeks ago I announced Lightning Addresses for everybody on Hive. The procedure to get one was a bit of a fiddle with going to a site and editing the URL.

No longer.

Directly from v4v.app you can jump to the Address tab, put in your Hive account name and you'll get your own image file.

You can download this unchanging image and use it wherever you like. Most Lightning clients now understand this type of address and any BTC Lightning sent to it will arrive in your Hive account seconds later.

And you can link

You can also directly link to the page: https://v4v.app/@brianoflondon and you can still get the raw image direct from my server if you want to put it on a web page: https://v4v.app/v1/lnurlp/qrcode/brianoflondon

Fixes

I fixed a few minor problems which people found: the service Tippin needed some fixes to work properly: it does now. I should point out however, that service is linked to your Twitter account. I had a Tippin account linked to my brianoflondon which I can no longer access! There are significant dangers of using a web identity you do not own.

Enhancements

I'm looking into the Lightning wallet browser plugin Alby. This is a really interesting bit of software that lets you have a Lightning wallet with some funds in directly in your browser. The @v4vapp gateway works well putting sats into your wallet and taking them out.

I'm going to work on tighter integration with Lightning WebLN standards that are going on in the background.

More Coming Soon!

There's lots more in the pipeline and I do hope that my proposal will be funded by the end of today when it goes live. I'm so grateful that I get to work on this stuff for the community and I am so thankful for all of you who have voted so far.
