It is Thanksgiving Day here in the US of A, so a very Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who observe this holiday tradition!
Being Danish, I didn't grow up with Thanksgiving... but I have "adopted" the holiday, both because I love the cornucopia of good food, as well as because the underlying ideal of pausing for a moment to reflect on what we are grateful for appeals to me.
So... How About That Hive?!?!
Certainly, I am thankful to see our Hive getting some attention and getting some value! This is a great thing to see, considering how many have given so much time and effort to get this community not only started, but also up and running and recognized.
I have no idea where this rally will go, or whether it will hold and be sustainable, but for the moment I have much gratitude for where we are, at this moment.
Gratitude... for Being ALIVE!
This may have been another difficult and weird year for the world, but that doesn't mean we can't pause to reflect on the things that did go well, rather than just focus on "what's wrong."
Because there are many things that are right.
Our cluttered house has gotten far more organized this year, and I am grateful for that.
Our vegetable garden's output pretty much doubled this year, and we are getting close to being self-sustaining, at least in the growing aspect of our food. I am grateful for that.
We were both able to completely work from home for another year, and still make ends meet, and I am grateful for that.
A few days ago we welcomed a new little old cat into our lives, and I am grateful for her, and for the chance to give her a happy and loving remainder of her life.
We still have our good health and are doing pretty remarkably well for folks in the region of age 60. I am grateful for that!
And I am grateful for Hive and surrounding communities, because it's not just a very welcome social alternative to Farcebook, but it has rekindled my love of writing! I am grateful for that!

Tomorrow starts off the "shopping craze" witgh "Black Friday," but we shall be having a quiet day at home.
If you're headed out into the craziness, in search of something perfect... I wish you "Happy Hunting!" But be careful... human beings can behave really badly when they sniff out a bargain.
