As parents and siblings, although each of us is individuals who continue their lives on separate roofs and form their own families, once a week; We get together at the invitation my mother initiated.

I'm talking about traditional family meals!

When it comes to the people who brought us to this world and brought us to this age, I am not surprised that they know everything about us down to the last detail, because I also know all the details of my daughter.

I have to admit that when I became a father, I understood my parents better.


The last of our traditional family dinners took place, as always, upon my mother's effort, invitation and effort. Here, rather than a recipe, I will try to reflect the power of family ties that bring us together and keep us together even though we live in separate houses.

I would like to emphasize once again that it was my mother and my mother's food that provided it.

Pancake, which is left over from Ottoman cuisine to Turkish cuisine, is a type of pastry that we all love. Cooking on a wood-heated sheet adds extra flavor to its flavor.


You can use any additives you want in the preparation of the dough. If you want, you can make the dough by mixing the flour only with water, or you can add additional additives such as milk, yeast, eggs, oil. These are purely optional, additional details. If you want the dough to be thin, do not use yeast! The dough of yeast dough is thicker and gives the feeling of bread while eating pancakes, but it is a fact that there are people who like pancakes made from yeast dough.

Each of the small pieces taken from the prepared dough is rolled out with the help of a rolling pin until a thin dough is obtained. After the opening process is completed; Add the material to half of the dough. The material to be put into the pancake is also optional. You can add cottage cheese to greens such as spinach, parsley, dill, and leek, or you can create your own mix from ground beef and cheese. Our preference has always been spinach, green onions, parsley, dill and cottage cheese.

The dough is covered with the remaining parts of the dough, half of which is mixed, and the uncooked final form of the pancake is obtained.

The pancake can be made in any pan on the stove at home, or it can be made on a metal sheet heated by wood fire. When you want to make it in a pan, it is necessary to give the pancake a round shape. We prefer it to be cooked on a sheet metal, as it is cooked in wood fire.

Cooked pancake; It is recommended that you fold it into rolls and eat it immediately, without losing its temperature. You don't want to wait too long for a crispy flavor! Ayran is also recommended as a drink!

Despite the long years that have passed, I love the family ties that have brought us together and my mother, who is a very good organizer and cook in terms of being a family.
