What does love actually mean to you? I think it comes out of respect, where you can feel secure, it's a comfort zone where you can completely open up yourself, and share your ideas because your people aren't here to judge, it's about giving priority, showing care and putting an extra effort for your close one mostly when they're needed. And with all these things, love can be the greatest feeling one can ever feel!
In this movie, love comes in different forms. It is found between son and step dad's relation, husbands and wives, between your best friends, in the superstar and his manager, between a mentally disabled brother and his caring sister, boss and his coworker. Here, love is shown beyond social stratification, racial discrimination, age and language boundary. But sometimes, love goes wrong. You may fall in love with your best friend's wife where nothing can be done, your wife can be cheating on you with your own brother, maybe you are a happy couple but can't ignore the affection from your co-worker, maybe you love someone so hard but cannot express it for the language differences, age or he is just a prime minister. But things can be worked out if you put that little extra effort. It reminds me of the famous quote “Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho … to poori kainath use tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai”
Love Actually (2003) is a romantic comedy-drama directed by Richard Curtis. I was super thrilled to see the ensemble cast where I got so many familiar faces from Taken, Nanny Mephee, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribbean, The Walking Dead, Sherlock and you name it! The most interesting thing is it is plotted with ten different stories but they get connected in some way to another which is the sweetest thing to watch!
I also loved the chronological sequence of timing in this movie. The story started five weeks before Christmas and all the stories moved with a festive vibe and in the end, the director tried to show a reunion among the casts after one month later.
I quite enjoyed the movie, it's a sweet thing to watch. I love the way people work so hard to make their love successful. Though some parts were over dramatic and unreal to me, so it's better to call it a fantasy movie but still, I was entertained by it. Also one funny thing is, some of the parts of this movie are adopted in our Bangladeshi romantic drama.
The movie starts and ends with some documented scenes of reunion from Heathrow airport. Where it is shown that this is the best place to observe love from different aspects. Where you can see love everywhere, among fathers and sons, husbands and wives, friends, lovers. "And if you look for it, you'll find that love actually is all around!"
