Not all that glitters is gold

It was on a sunny Monday morning David boarded a taxi on his way to work. Inside this taxi he met a young man well dress with a nice tailored suit. The young man had a briefcase that look like one from the American movies. David wondered what was in the briefcase. The young introduced himself as Peter and that he his a Bank manager in one of the top banks in town. David was excited and started chatting with the man, the talked about vitally every topic they could discuss. It was about 30 minutes into the journey when Mr Peter asked David if he would love to invest in their bank, David said what is the investment all about, Mr Peter told him it was a new company that are into importation of gadgets and that the profit is on the high side.

Mr Peter brought out a piece of paper and showed it to David the piece of paper analyzed the amount you would invest and how much profit you would make in a month, Davids eyes was lit up, because with #200,000 you would make a profit of #600,000, to David this was a great opportunity and he would not want to miss it. He exchanged contacts with Mr Peter and told him he would get back to him later.

David got home that evening and told his sister what had happened during the day and the sister said she was not comfortable with such a business that it was too good to be true, David yelled at her " you are always having a negative mindset about everything", the sister kept quiet for some minutes then shae said "all that glitters is not gold". David laughed and said " when I become a millionaire I will buy you a nice car".

David called Mr Peter and scheduled a meeting for the next day at a restaurant. It was 2pm and David went to meet up with Mr Peter at the restaurant, when he saw Mr Peter he was dressed in a shiny flashy suit and David was like this man is making a whole lot of money. Mr Peter brought out some papers and David went through the papers and he loved the deal he saw, He didn't even wait to meet his lawyer has he always does when he wants to sign a deal for legal advice, David was just interested in the money he was going to make. He signed the papers on the 14th of November and then transfer #500,000 to Mr Peter. Mr Peter confirmed that he has received the payment and he congratulated David and said welcome to the millionaires club David was beaming with a bright smile, finally he has hit the jackpot. Weeks passed by and David had a constant Contact with Mr Peter and he assured him that on the 14th of December he would receive his profit. David picked up his phone and dialed Mr Peters number and the machine answered and said the number is switched off, David thought " oh well maybe his battery is low", he kept calling Mr Peter for days but could not reach him. He told his sister about it and his sister adviced him to go to the bank that Mr Peter told him he was working in, David went there and met with a staff of the bank and asked to see Mr Peter the Manager but the staff said there is no one named Mr Peter working in the bank or let alone being the bank manager. David could not believe his ears he sat on the floor and tears rolled down his eyes, He had lost a fortune and he realized he should have listened to his sisters advice.

In our daily pursuit of money we all should be careful, there are a lot of fraudulent people out there waiting to dupe unsuspecting individuals. We should all know that all that glitters is not gold.
