The first sign of trouble came on a Monday when a news show on a popular channel reported that two of America's largest food-service companies had decided to stop using Foodie-A products.

The company responded by releasing a statement saying it was taking steps "to ensure complete compliance with all legal requirements." A few hours later, one of Foodie-A's top executives resigned his position and went on to live on South America.

On Monday morning, the Wall Street Journal reported that Foodie-A had received a subpoena from the SEC requesting information about its overseas operations. That afternoon, the New York Stock Exchange announced that it would be delisting Foodie-A's stock because of concerns over whether thar businesses was complying with U.S. laws.

By this time, Foodie-A's share price had dropped several billions, more than 20 percent of its value in just one day.

That evening, Foodie-A issued a statement claiming that it intended to cooperate fully with the SEC. But by Tuesday night, investors were already beginning to panic as rumors spread that other companies might be suffering similar issues.

Some experts began predicting that Foodie-A could lose up to half its market value within days if no solution was found soon. It seemed likely that any executive who made a decision in those hours would have to live with the consequences for years to come.

As Foodie-A's stock continued to plummet, some analysts began worrying aloud that the company would not survive. Others speculated that the situation might force Foodie-A to sell off some of its international assets. If so, they added, even that step was unlikely to save Foodie-A.

In the end, one of the ways to keep the company afloat would be to find a replacement CEO, send many people to jail, and lose some of its main assets. Maybe with these measures, Foodie-A could have a future.

While the rumors swirled, the government quickly put out a press release announcing that the country would not take any action against Foodie-A unless a federal court ruled otherwise.

This announcement did little to calm Wall Street or reassure consumers. By Wednesday night, stocks around the world were down significantly, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping nearly six hundred points. All the corporative world was undergoing a crisis.

A few hours after midnight, a bomb exploded at Foodie-A's headquarters in New York. One witness said he saw three men running away from the building before detonating a device inside a parked car. Many people were injured and many others died. The police arrested five suspects on charges of terrorism. They also found evidence suggesting that the bombing had been planned and funded by someone in China, but the Chinese government denied involvement.

Over the next week, Foodie-A's stock continued to fall, hitting a low point on Thursday. Federal agents searched the company's offices and facilities which caused even more panic to ensue.

Meanwhile, the company released statements expressing regret for the tragedy and promising to continue working with the authorities to help them determine how the attack had occurred.

By Friday evening, Foodie-A's stock rebounded slightly and finally began climbing back toward a less tragic level but the crisis was far from over.

Even the president send a message to express condolences to the families of those who had died. He also promised to work with the United Nations Security Council to bring those responsible for the bombing to justice. And he thanked Foodie-A for cooperating with the investigation.

But there was little public support for such calls. Most Americans felt that it was too late to try to blame anyone else. People already knew exactly what had happened, and they weren't happy about it.

One day later, Foodie-A announced that it was suspending its operations in Uzbekistan after reviewing new reports of human rights violations in the region. The company said it would review its foreign holdings in light of what information relevant parties could provide.

Foodie-A's actions appeared to satisfy some critics, though other observers pointed out that the company was going to inevitably fail. Like many corporations, Foodie-A insisted it had never done anything wrong while maintaining that it had always complied with all applicable laws.

By then, a growing number of voices were calling for an outright ban on Foodie-A products. On Sunday night, a human rights activist group sent a letter to the president urging him to ban Foodie-A from doing business in the United States.

People were demanding action as the company continued to be investigated thoroughly to confirm if it was violating laws relating to child labor within its overseas factories.

The corporation was panicking, the board members believed they were smarter than anyone else and that they could bend the rules in their favor because they were big enough to do whatever they wanted. But they were now realizing that the world wasn't their playground and even if justice required a lot of time, it always arrived sooner or later.

Knowing they had committed crimes and abuses using their corporative power, and knowing everyone was about to find out about them, the board members only had 1 option left, to kill themselves and avoid the discomfort of going to jail. It was either jail or the afterlife for them, and they knew it.
