I'm thinking about how time flies, it really reminds me of some joke lines about "one day you're young and then all of a sudden you start wearing a tie", it was an old sense of humor from a few decades ago, but I think (with many variants) is maintained today, for me today would be something like "One day you were young and the next you are happy to spend a quiet Friday night at home..." Yes, that of not going out in the afternoon Friday to drink with fellow students or co-workers, going home early and avoiding getting stuck in traffic, wanting the day to end without serious incidents or problems to record, all of that makes me think... that don't I have been young for quite some time.
On this day, 826 since that Friday when the beginning of the #quarantine was announced in #Venezuela due to the #COVID-19 #pandemic, I have tried to have a calm mind and I have really moved away from problems and complications, that makes that for many it may seem that it was a boring day, but, you can believe me, that is a blessing, a calm day is a treasure that not everyone can appreciate. But, that makes my daily report a bit concise, so let's review what anniversary of #History we actually have on hand to complete things, in this case: The statue celebrates 137 years of having arrived from France to the Big Apple.
On a day like today, in 1885, the Statue of Liberty arrived in New York, as a gift from France to the US for the centenary of its independence. Taken in parts, transported by the French army, and it took 21 years for the Statue of Liberty to be conceived, built in pieces, shipped to the United States and hoisted on its pedestal. Its symbolism is quite interesting, from the arm raised with the torch (whose flame was laminated in gold in 1989), the book held in his left arm with the date of North American independence, to his crown of 7 rays or the chains under his left foot (representative of breaking with oppression and achieving freedom)
Not only did it become an icon of the city of New York, but it also became a symbol of the United States of America and its ideals, perhaps for this reason it is also considered a target of potential terrorist attacks, I can remember that after the attacks of September 11 (2001), against the Twin Towers, access to the statue and the island where it is located (Ellis Island) was closed, and it was opened again in 2009, but even today certain procedures must be followed to be able to visit the site and its museum.

Estoy pensando en como pasa el tiempo, de verdad que me hace recordar algunas frases de chistes sobre "un día eres joven y luego, de pronto, comienzas a usar corbata", era un viejo sentido de humor de hace unas décadas, pero creo que (con muchas variantes) se mantiene en la actualidad, para mi hoy sería algo como "Un día eras joven y al siguiente te alegras de poder pasar una noche del viernes tranquilo en tu casa..." Si, eso de no salir la tarde del viernes a tomar con los compañeros de estudio o de trabajo, eso de ir temprano a casa y evitar quedar atrapado en el tráfico, eso de querer que el día termine sin incidentes graves ni problemáticos para registrar, todo eso, me hace pensar que hace ya bastante tiempo que no soy joven.
En este día, 826 desde aquel viernes en que se anunció en #Venezuela el inicio de la #Cuarentena por la #pandemia de #Covid19, yo he procurado tener una mente calmada y de verdad que me he alejado de problemas y complicaciones, eso hace que para muchos pueda parecer que fue un día aburrido, pero, puedes creerme, eso es una bendición, un día en calma es un tesoro que no todos pueden apreciar. Pero, eso hace que mi reporte diario sea un poco escueto, así que pasemos a revisar que aniversario de hecho de la #Historia tenemos a mano para completar las cosas, en este caso: La estatua cumple 137 años de haber llegado desde Francia a la Gran Manzana.
Un día como hoy, en 1885, la Estatua de la Libertad llegó a Nueva York, como un regalo de Francia a EEUU por el centenario de su independencia. Llevo por partes, trasportada por la armada francesa y tomó 21 años para que la Estatua de la Libertad fuera concebida, construida en piezas, enviada a Estados Unidos e izada en su pedestal. Su simbolismo es bastante interesante, desde el brazo izado con la antorcha (cuya llama fue laminada en oro en 1989), el libro sostenido en su brazo izquierdo con la fecha de la independencia norteamericana, hasta su corona de 7 rayos o las cadenas bajo su pie izquierdo (representativas de romper con la opresión y alcanzar la libertad)
No solamente se convirtió en un ícono de la ciudad de Nueva York, sino que también se erigió como símbolo de los Estados Unidos de América y de sus ideales, quizás por eso es también considerado un blanco de potenciales ataques terroristas, puedo recordar que luego de los ataques del 11 de septiembre de 2001 contra las Torres Gemelas, se clausuró el acceso a la estatua y a la isla donde se encuentra (Isla Ellis), y se abrió de nuevo fue en 2009, pero aún hoy hay que cumplir ciertos procedimientos para poder visitar el sitio y su museo.
