Historical Data On Hive Punks Trading Activity | Number of punks, volume and top buyers

Hive Punks were launched on November 12th, 2021 during the first day of HiveFest and they were sold in 36 hours. Since then, the project web page was improved a bit, a data on market history was added but just for the last day.

Here we will be looking at the trading activity after the Hive Punks sold out, and the trading between players.

I have made a post just after the sellout, looking at the data about punks sale and the top buyers.

Just a reminder this is the chart about how the sale went.

Now we will be looking at:

  • Hive Punks sold per day
  • Trading volume in HIVE
  • Top buyers

The period that we will be looking at is from November 12, 2021 until January 26, 2022.

Disclaimer: This data is not 100% accurate and it is more like indicative. The reason because why I could not get a 100% accurate data is because the Hive Engine api doesn’t have the history and I have queried the Hive blockchain for data. The thing is you can not be a 100% sure is the data on the Hive blockchain processed from Hive Engine because there can be “fake” transactions, or just an error transactions made by users that were not accepted by Hive Engine but are still stored on the blockchain.

I have manually went through the data and clean it up and have probably missed some or maybe removed some that is legitimate.

Number Of Hive Punks Traded Per Day

Here is the chart for Hive Punks traded per day.

image005.png

As we see at the beginning there was a more Hive Punks traded, with numbers reached more then 100 punks traded on daily basis. In the next few days, the numbers dropped to 60 to 70 and then a further drop to around 10 to 20 Punks traded per day.

Since then, the numbers stayed in this range with some spikes to 30 Punks on a day. In the latest days the numbers are lower then 10 punks traded per day. A note that any OTC deals are not included in the chart.

The general disclaimer from the above is applicable for the chart.

Trading Volume

Here is the chart for the trading volume.

A reminder that the data is indicative and not exact.

This chart follows the chart for the number of Punks sold as well. A big volume in the beging and a slow a drop after that. In the first days there was around 10k volume per day in HIVE, then a drop to around 5k and afterwards a drop bellow 1k HIVE daily trading volume.

We can see a spike around new year with 5k trading volume. This is because a few big sales happened on more valuable Punks in those days.

Top Hive Punks Buyers

Here are the accounts that made the higher volume buying Hive Punks.

Disclaimer the data in indicative and not accurate.

@elmerlin is on the top here with more then 20k HIVE in trading volume. @elmerin holds the record for the most expensive Hive Punk bought during the first days with a price of 5555 HIVE. At least in an non OTC trade. @yabapmatt and @wizardx are in the top as well.

Overall Hive Punks are showing some trading volume on daily basis but the decline from the initial hype is obvious. This is to be expected, as there was high enthusiasm when the project launched. Probably one of the most successful projects on Hive in 2021. Usually after the initial excitement things slow down. From a price perspective the Hive Punks have dropped slightly in price in the last period, but overall, they still hold the price well with the floor between 15 and 20 HIVE. The rarest punks goes for prices between 5k to 10k.

When it comes to NFTs things can be speculative as the value is totally subjective and it all depends will there be some popularity around them. My personal feeling is that this project will be around for a long time and will hold the price decently well. Will it moon though? Dunno 😊. Depends from a lot of factors. Anyways is nice to have some punks around Hive and I have seen a lot of Hivers setting them as profile images. I have personally done it myself.

Are you collecting some Hive Punks?

All the best
