Robert and Amelia are a classic couple, nothing that would make them stand out from the crowd.. just normal people. People who work 24/7 for a decent salary, nothing big just an ordinary salary.
They never had time for each other, they would always do their own jobs, like doing chores and stuff..
Robert works as a messy car mechanic to buy groceries, while Amelia works as a daycare assistant to pay the bills, If anyone of them got sick or got fired from their job there would be a huge financial problem.
They will either have to sell their house in a few months or go back to where their families live, which would mean that they won't be able to see each other again.
If they choose to live with their family again then that would put all their hard work in vain, they came to Canada for a reason.
Luckily nothing of that has happened...yet...
They aren't a boring couple! Outsiders say that they go to a neighbor's café, where they thrive.
"Robert! I haven't seen you all day, you look quite nice!" Amelia compliments.
The baristas comment that every time they come to this specific café they are always in their "honeymoon" stage, none of them ever get bored of it.
"They are always happy here, nowhere else," the café's janitor adds.
"Hello barista, my wife and I would like two expressos," Robert orders.
"Coming right up!" the barista says.

As they poured in the coffee, the rich scent filled the café, making customers want more coffee!
"So fulfilling!" a lady says.
"The coffee beans smell fresh today!" an elderly man says.
"This coffee vapor is just glamour!" a woman in a bob cut compliments.
As everyone finished ordering their coffee they all sat down and started sipping away!
Smiles filled their faces as they drank their beverage.
"Croissants right on time!" the local baker exclaims.
A new group of costumers rushed in to get the freshly baked croissants.
"Let's go eat some, it smells great!" Amelia says.
Robert follows along.

The breads were warm off the oven, as the baker had described, but it had this cheesy scent, something not all cafés have.
What makes this café stand out is their unique flavor and perception of coffee and dessert.
Other cafe's coffees would taste bitter and cold, and their croissants would be massy and cold. Their taste would be distasteful, people who consumed their products would never comeback again.
Anyways, after leaving the café for the 23th time today, they stopped when they saw a lonely puppy on the street.

"Hun, lets adopt it!" Amelia says picking up the dog.
"I would, but we can barely take care of ourselves, much less the expenses it comes when owning a dog," he reasons.
"A puppy," Amelia corrects.
"Yeah, yeah. A puppy who will soon grow into a dog," Robert adds with an eyeroll.
"Whatever. I will take full responsibility," she says.
When they come back home they immediately get back to work, Amelia drops the pooch in her room and feeds it some water while Robert goes to do the groceries.
Upon arriving Robert saw an old guy trip over at his own cane stick, Robert, being a good boy, helps the man out while everyone walks by like they aren't a part of this.
"Thankyou, young man," the elderly congratulates. "With great risk comes great reward!"
"Risk? Robert questions.
"Oh, sorry I trip over my own words! I meant, with great help comes great reward... Oh I mea-"
"Sorry sir, I'll have to go!" Robert says impatiently.
"Your kindness will come back to you!" the elder finally says after tripping over his own words.
"Something all people say," Robert thinks to himself. "Nothing special."
After exiting the supermarket and coming home, he was made with a shock!
His worst fears came true!
(The puppy messed the house! No, just kidding)
Amelia passed out!
The puppy was sitting near her and whimpering.
Robert took her to the nearest hospital, there the doctor said that she might have to stay in the hospital 'till she wakes up.
Robert was worried about the upcoming unpaid rent, and how his car job will only let him pay his groceries, and dog stuff.
Days passed to weeks, weeks passed to months, and before he knew it, it was already a year.
Robert was homeless now, with the dog by his side.
He visited that very café which he and Amelia went to everyday, from fresh and glamour scent surrounding the café to a cold and unfriendly atmosphere.
It has been a year, after all.
"What do you want?" a barista greeted like he just came from an exhausting trip.
It was the same barista who took Amelia and his order.
"Where's your wife? Weren't you guys in your honeymoon stage?" the same janitor interrogates.
"Oooh! I know! You guys divorced! Happens all the time," the barista says hopping into quick conclusions.
"What happened to the café, where's the rich scent and all that?" Robert asks.
"Oh, we are closing down. Our café got bankrupt, we are holding a donation thing to help the café," they both answer in unison.
"My wife loved it here," Robert comments.
"Why the past tense?" the barista asks.
"She's in a coma right now," he answers.
"Stay strong dude!" the janitor motivates.
Before the janitor could finish with his motivational speech Robert left the café.
He later received a call from the hospital..
"Could she have passed on?" he can't help but ask himself.
He picks up the phone.
Nurse: Hello?
Robert: Problem?
Nurse: Your wife-
Robert: Coming right now!
With that, he closes the call.
When he arrived, the first thing he saw gave him a burst of happiness,
Amelia was as alive as ever, with her gorgeous smile, but weak and delicate from spending all that time in bed.
"How long has it been?" she asks.
"One year," he answers.
"Where's the pup? I never got to name it," she rants.
The pup, all grown up now, leaps into her bed.
How are they going to pay the hospital bills? Robert tells Amelia that they are homeless now and that her favorite café is closing.
She panics, but the nurse got in the way and reports that...
"Your hospital bills have been paid."
Was it a miracle or what?
"What ? I never paid it!" Robert says still in disbelief.
"Here it says so on the paper," the nurse says showing him the medical bill.
"I paid it," says a quite familiar elderly man.

"You paid it?" Robert asks.
"Of course, youngster!" the man who tripped on his cane stick replies.
A few months after Amelia recovered..
"Let's go to the café!" she demands.
"It's probably closed," he says.
"What do you mean? It says here that it's open!"
"Let's go see what has changed,"
When they opened the cafe's door, it was cheerful again! Aromas, scents, everything was back in place!
People enjoying coffee.. all back to normal.
"Who donated?" Robert asks the barista.
"An old guy with a black hat a few moths ago donated tons," the barista guy answers.
The couple sit down and start sipping on coffee, just like the old days!

They both admire the sunset and decide to get fresh air with their beloved dog.

"I've missed you," they both confess.
Everybody is happy..
