OTK Zombie Combo Deck ( + budget version)

This Weekend Ranked event we have seen more Control Decks (especially Control Mages ofc). I wanna share with you Zombie combo deck that could deal with all that Control stuff and even try to mill them. Now I'll break down both versions of the deck and then we'll jump closer to their mechanics.

Main Combo

Ideally you should have Skull Scepter on to perform maximum damage. Your opponent should have 3 (or more) creatures on board and 5 mana (or 4 mana with pip).

  1. You should trigger frenzy.
  2. Use Outnumber the Living to fill your board with zombies
  3. Show Necronomics for the opponent
  4. Finish him with Corpse Explosion

Let's figure out how much damage we can deal with this combo:

  • Soul Burn to trigger frenzy - 1 dmg
  • 3 dmg for each of 6 zombies with Corpse Explosion - 18 dmg
  • 1 extra dmg for each zombie from Skull Scepter - 6 dmg

Total dmg from combo: 25 dmg
Remaining 5 dmg you should deal via face damage spells before combo or together with combo (but then you will need more mana to perform the combo).

Cotrol Options

In main version we basically talk about sleep and stall your opponent.

In budget version it's more about survivability with Cursed Obelisks and its zombies + creature removals.

Additional options

These cards are needed in cases when your opponent doesn't play enough creatures.

Let's talk about gameplay

The idea of gameplay is similar to all others combo decks. You need to get all combo pieces before opponent destroys you 😅.

  • Playing against Aggro
On the mulligan stage you should try to get your control options as well as card draw. In a budget version you could try to get some of the combo pieces since you won't have too much card draw options in the deck.

  • Playing against Control
This time you can mulligan your combo pieces and card draw options because in most of the times your opponent won't play too much creatures you need to deal with. Esp. playing against Board Wipe Death its cruicial to get your combo as fast as you can because you could be milled and if your combo is milled, game is over.

  • Playing against Combo Decks
Get your combo set up before your opponent does 😎

Perfectly you starts with Skull Scepter and some bodies to play and draw cards, so while your creatures being destroyed you starts to deal face damage to your opponent. Against Nature you want to see Eva in your starting hand and use Ritual God as a god power to cycle the Afterlife of Eva on low mana creatures. If not, you'd better have the Siren of the Grave to stall your opponent's creatures before they'll destroy your god. If you face Magic you might possibly take Soul Burn as a god power to go through Safeguard Incantation which is used in most of the current Mage decks, but you also can go through is with Skull Scepter and Untold Greed or Ragnarok. Try to get all of the combo pieces till 5-6 turn and you can have good win rate with this deck.

Conclusion

To draw a conclusion I'd like to say that this deck isn't so complicated since the most of gameplay is to set up your combo and use it. But if want to have a nice and big winrate you should train a while against different gods and decks this. Trust me, this deck could give you 17+ wins in WR and so much fun while playing it.
