Drawing development / Desarrollo ✏️

Here I wanted to represent the character of Cerberus with a more realistic touch, but using a chihuahua as a canine base, keeping certain animated and fantasy details that characterizes the original design, for the development and ease of it, I divided the character into several sections, as were the heads, body, and other accessories such as the chain and necklace, each painted separately to be able to apply more comfortably the different effects and textures.

Acá quise representar al personaje de Cerberus con un toque más realista, pero usando como base canina a un chiguagua, manteniendo ciertos detalles animados y fantasiosos que caracteriza el diseño original, para el desarrollo y facilidad del mismo, al personaje lo dividí en varias secciones, como fueron las cabezas, cuerpo, y demás accesorios como la cadena y collar, cada una pintadas por separado para poder aplicarle con mayor comodidad los diferentes efectos y texturas.

I started the drawing by making the sketch, I used as a reference the image of the original character, and I also saw several pictures of chiguaguas to better understand the morphology of the character. I also designed the background of the drawing. Then I opaque the layers of the sketch and apply the base color to the Cerberus.

Empecé el dibujo realizando el boceto, use como referencia la imagen del personaje original, además de ver varias fotos de chiguaguas para entender mejor la morfología del mismo. También diseñe el fondo del dibujo. Seguidamente opaque las capas del boceto y aplique el color base al Cerberus.

In this step I started to detail a little more the dog, putting some shadows and fur texture to it, also I was designing the ears, nose and mouth of the dog.

En este paso empecé a detallar un poco más al perro, colocándole algo de sombras y textura de pelaje al mismo, también fui diseñando las orejas, nariz y boca del mismo.

Now I proceed to design the necklace and the Cerberus chain, each element I drew separately, placing shadows, glows and textures in different layers. I also proceeded to design an infernal themed background.

Ahora paso a diseñar el collar y la cadena del Cerberus, cada elemento lo dibuje por separado, colocando sombras, brillos y texturas en capas diferentes. También procedí a diseñar un fondo con temática infernal.

As a final step, I finished designing the eyes of the Cerberus, I left this step last because I wanted to concentrate on achieving a look similar to the original character. Once we obtained our base drawing with the different tonalities, textures, shadows and light areas, we started to apply light effects, we used different layers in blend mode to add and overexpose to illuminate certain parts.

Como paso final, termine de diseñar los ojos del Cerberus, este paso lo deje de último ya que quería concentrarme en lograr una mirada similar al personaje original. Una vez obtenido nuestro dibujo base con las diferentes tonalidades, texturas, sombras y zonas claras, empezamos a aplicar efectos de luces, usamos diferentes capas en modo mezcla añadir y sobre exposición para iluminar ciertas partes.
