Couple of friends - watercolor on paper

Hello all dear Hivers and welcome back to my blog. My daily post is a watercolor subject that was commissioned by a couple of friends. They sent me a simple black and white photo from which I had to make the watercolor portrait. On a positive note, they gave me complete freedom to interpret their photo.

So I decided to work on monochrome as well, and prepared a base of indigo color. I started the painting without drawing to be more free to depict the two friends on paper.

I did the contour lines of the figures with a light gray color and slowly darkened them with indigo.

They are close to getting married so I made the flowers in negative on his shirt and outlined the couple with flowers and a white heart, also in negative on the table.

I hope it will bring them luck because it didn't work out very well for me LOL.

Coppia di amici - acquarello su carta

Ciao a tutti cari Hivers e ben tornati sul mio blog. Il mio post giornaliero è un soggetto ad acquarello che mi è stato commissionato da una coppia di amici. Mi hanno inviato una semplice foto in bianco e nero dalla quale ho dovuto eseguire il ritratto ad acquarello. Una nota positiva è stata che mi hanno lasciato piena libertà di interpretazione della loro foto.

Così ho deciso di lavorare anch'io sul monocromatico, ed ho preparato una base di colore indigo. Ho iniziato il dipinto senza disegno per essere più libero di raffigurare i due amici sulla carta. Le linee di contorno delle figure le ho eseguite con un leggero colore grigio e piano piano sono andato a scurire con l'indigo.

Loro sono prossimi a sposarsi così ho realizzato i fiori in negativo sulla camicia di lui e contornato la coppia con fiori ed un cuore bianco, sempre in negativo sul tavolo.

Spero che gli porti fortuna perchè a me non è andata molto bene LOL.
