Hundred of Buddhas in the City of Angels, Bangkok (11 photos)

DSC_01.JPG

Bangkok or City of Angels, as it's also called, has so many beautiful temples and ancient architecture. One of those places I have visited more than once is the Wat Pho temple and the Grand Palace. Both are close together, so it's convinient to visit both on the samen day. The district where you will find them is Ko Ratanakosin, one of the oldest districts in Bangkok. It's also called the Royal district because of the former royal palace.

My favorite part of Wat Pho is the building with the reclining Buddha. As far as I know, this is the largest of its kind in Thailand. The size is impressive and you have to walk all the way around to enjoy the detatails from every angle. The length is 46 meters and the hight is 15 meters!

The temple complex has a large selection of Buddhas. Just walk around the complex and you will see rows of figures. A beautiful, peaceful place in the middle of chaotic Bangkok.
