Recent Prospecting Trip

Hi Friends,

I wanted to do another post on my recent half day of gold prospecting in the Arizona desert.

I tried to make sure I was not on any staked claims (hard when they can be 20 acres in size) but I did go by an active mining operation during my prospecting hike. I got within 100 yards of this operation, which is producing 30,000 ounces of gold per year:

They are doing leach pads and other mining techniques, so very equipment and land intensive. I was hoping some of the gold from their veins had washed down gulleys, but no luck this time. The pic and angle being below the operation do not do it justice - it is quite large!

While I was out, I did get a few pics of desert plants as well to share some of the landscape:

Look forward to getting out again, and next time, maybe I will actually find some gold!

Thanks for coming by,
Brian
