Within minutes of its release it had tens of thousands of views, was picked up by dozens of other websites, had fueled an epic discussion in the comments section, resulted in numerous unsubscribes and Karger received two death threats.”

Put Down the Guns and Do Something Useful
As the week went on, it became obvious to those of us at TDV that Karger post needed more attention. Jeff Berwick addresses some of the seemingly endless stream of comments coming in from TDV readers.
“We have to point out that the typical inhabitant of a country will consider invaders from another country to be just that: invaders. The US tax cows would likely respond with guerrilla violence if, say, China or Canada invaded.
But Americans love their military. They’re absolutely crazy about their armed forces. They nod smilingly when airlines let the military board first.”

You know what is the best system for humans who are all completely self-interested to adhere to? Anarchy. The free market, unfettered. Or do you think central planning is the better option? Then, let's start jailing millions of badminton players.”
