Krispy Kreme Christmas Collection 2020

Good Afternoon Festive Friends!

So far we have had Krispy Kreme’s Ugly Jumper and Santa Belly. Today I am going to tell you about the third donut I had from this year’s Christmas Collection. Today it the minty Peppermint Plaid.

I have had a chocolate mint donut from Krispy Kreme, but I have never seen or had an actual mint donut where the mint was the star of the show. This one is a decorated Original Glazed. It is topped with white peppermint icing and decorated with red and green plaid icing. There isn’t much to say about this. The mint wasn’t too strong, but there was just enough mint for it to stand out on its own away from the sweetness of the Original Glazed donut. The decorative icing was nice, but I think it could have been made a little neater and made it look more like tartan. It was still nice to look at as you have the white mint icing and of course, the festive green and red colours.

This was a really nice donut. I only picked out one of the Peppermint Plaid ones for my dozen. I thought the mint would spread across to the other donuts. Also, I wanted to try it, but there were other donuts that I preferred to have in my box. It was a lovely refreshing flavour of mint. Nice to have on it’s own, but I wouldn’t eat more than one donut as the flavour does have an impact on the other flavours. I did eat 4 donuts in a row and I wish I had the mint one without tucking into others. I would have this one again. It was nice to have a different flavour added to the menu as at the moment, the menu is full of chocolate, caramel and kreme!
