Hello friends of HIVE OPEN MIC, today for the "Doing the Work" theme, a phrase that indicates taking steps towards self-healing, I wanted to show you "El Merengue de los Colores" which was written trying to give a beneficial message about leaving sorrows behind, the dance and the positive thoughts cheer us up. The music was made by Andrés Frómeta with his musical project Zoom Soon Bao especially so that I could write the lyrics and sing it.
It was Andrés who had the idea of making an electro merengue inspired by projects like Sandy and Papo paying tribute to his Dominican roots. It was a great challenge for me to sing a music in which rhythm and meter are so important, but I am very happy with the result and I hope to be able to perform this song soon in front of a large live audience.
For the video, I used the Chroma Key technique again, singing and dancing in front of several green fabrics that I have and replacing them later with a copyright-free visual.
This is the visual I used for the video, I chose it because it expresses very well the happiness and the chromatic metaphors of the song, also because of the contrast with the dark clothes I use in the video. I highly recommend following this YouTube channel, especially if you need visuals for your musical projects.
