Feathered Friday Morning

I made a post about a new bird I had the pleasure to see and photograph - the little siskin - Eurasian Siskin. I ended the post writing that I wish to see it again and male in particular and my wish came true the same day.

I went to see the doctor in the morning. Nothing to worry about, just a regular visit to get my medicine prescription for the high blood pressure. I took the camera with me to make some pictures of the sport facilities next to the clinic for my future post for the Introduce Your City Community. This is a new community with interesting contests.

I did not expect to see any birds around, but I was surprised by the chirps and the number of little birds feeding on seeds and frolicking. First to catch my eye was the male siskin.

Let me zoom the next image. These dried plants, obviously still have enough seeds, as the female was also there and both were hopping on the thin stalks.

And here is the female siskin, almost unnoticed.

See how bright and attractive the male bird is. I could not capture both in one image. Still, it was so nice to see them.

I heard the wren, so loud and clear, unmistakable call that makes me wonder how it is possible this small bird to be so noisy and heard from a distance. The wren was not willing to wait and pose. I missed several shots and finally it landed on the rusty fence.

Then quickly moved on the tree.

Compared to last year, this year there are much more wrens. I can hear them early in the morning, but hardly could see them especially when I am rushing for work. It seems in every shrub some wren is hiding.

Very pleased to see bunch of chaffinches there too. Look how this male chaffinch stays on a thorny twig.

And reaches the seeds without punching itself.

It seems the chaffinch had rich breakfast turning into round feathered ball.

And I will finsh the post with two images of a sparrow who also was on that buffet, where all small birds had their feast.

And that's all for now.

Wishing you lovely weekend!
