Um nicht durch oder an Stuttgart vorbeifahren zu müssen, hielt ich in Schorndorf. Ich blieb über Nacht und schaute mir die Altstadt an. Schorndorf ist eine Stadt in Baden-Württemberg und ist die drittgrößte Stadt im Rems-Murr-Kreis. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung geht auf das Jahr 1235 zurück. Archäologische Funde belegen Siedlungsspuren aus der Mittelsteinzeit und häufiger aus der Jungsteinzeit. In größerem Umfang sind auch archäologische Funde aus der Römerzeit bekannt.
Schorndorf ist bekannt durch den Erfinder des ersten schnelllaufenden Benzinmotors, Gottlieb Daimler. Er wurde am 17. März 1834 in Schorndorf geboren.
In order not to have to drive through or past Stuttgart, I stopped in Schorndorf. I stayed overnight and had a look at the old town. Schorndorf is a town in Baden-Württemberg and is the third largest town in the Rems-Murr district. The first documentary mention dates back to 1235. Die historische Altstadt und insbesondere der Marktplatz mit dem Marktbrunnen und zahlreichen historischen Fachwerkhäusern gehören zu den schönsten in Deutschland und stehen als Ganzes unter Denkmalschutz. Das Rathaus, das von 1726 bis 1730 erbaut wurde, gilt als das Wahrzeichen der Stadt.

... ist ein kostenloser Stellplatz für 10 Wohnmobile am Ortsrand von Schorndorf, der ganzjährig genutzt werden kann. Der Platz ist teilweise ebenerdig. Frischwasser gibt es für 1 Euro/50L und Strom für 50 Cent/kWh. Die Entsorgung von Grauwasser ist kostenlos. Die Entsorgung der chemischen Toilette kostet 1 Euro. Es gibt Rad- und Wanderwege. Vom Stellplatz bis zum Stadtzentrum sind es ca. 1,5 km Fußweg. Mountainbiker können ihre Leidenschaft im Freeride Mountain Bikepark Schorndorf ausleben; Kursangebote hier.
