Chicken is one of the most consumed foods worldwide. Chicken ranks second, for the amount of meat consumed after pork. We can find various types of dishes and dishes that use chicken meat, such as grilled chicken, chicken soup, chicken satay, chicken curry, and of course the most famous one is fried chicken.
Do you like fried chicken? Fried chicken is one of the most popular and easy to find chicken dishes. There are various kinds of fried chicken, but the most popular is the American-style fried chicken, which we usually find in fast food restaurants such as KFC, Mc Donalds, or A&W Restaurant. This time I want to share my culinary experience while eating at A&W Restaurant.
A&W Restaurant
Before telling about my culinary experience this time, I want to share my story and memories about fried chicken. In the past, when I was a child, there was only one American fast food fried chicken restaurant, namely KFC. When my family and I can go to KFC it is a happy experience for us. Me, I can only eat fried chicken from KFC when it's one of me or my sister's birthday. The current conditions have changed, there are many choices of Fast Food Restaurants that have opened their businesses in my city. In addition, there are also many local restaurants that sell fried chicken menus.
This time, I want to talk about A&W Restaurant. I came to this restaurant few days ago, for lunch with my wife. In my city, A&W Restaurant is one of the restaurants that just opened a branch in my city, maybe about 10 years ago. Just like other fried chicken restaurants, the concept and interior design of this restaurant is not much different.
The condition of this restaurant was quite busy at that time, apart from its very strategic location (close to the largest campus in my city) and also many menu choices that we could choose from. One of the characteristics of American fast food restaurants is the choice of package menus. Some menus are made with package bundling that we can choose according to our wishes and tastes.
Fried Chicken and Root Beer
I ordered Package 1, which consisted of 2 fried chicken, 1 large glass of root beer and also a serving of rice. One thing that sets A&W apart from other restaurants is one glass of root beer. This root beer has a unique and refreshing taste. The glass is very big around 600-800 ml and we don't need to order extra drinks.
There are two types of fried chicken sold at A&W Restaurant and I bought both. First, the Golden Aroma Chicken which is also a favorite of many people when eating at this restaurant. The fried chicken from this restaurant is fried dry and without leaving any oil, besides that the skin is very crispy and the taste of the chicken meat is very delicious. One of the factors, the process of marinating before the chicken is fried.
The second type of fried chicken is spicy chicken. This fried chicken has a darker color and less skin texture than golden aroma chicken. When we eat the chicken, the spicy taste appears. The spicy taste is similar to pepper and makes this spicy chicken very suitable for Indonesian tongues.
I guess I ate too much, if I thought one serving of rice, two fried chicken and 1 glass of root beer would make me fatter. I hope you are entertained and can feel the deliciousness of the fried chicken that I eat.
