Today I'm sharing a little different for me but is something I absolutely love, Cevapcici with Djuvec rice. This Cevapcici recipe is probably the best homemade sausage recipe I ever made. 😄

Cevapcici has its origins in the Balkans during the Ottoman period. This dish is so popular in Southeast Europe including Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovakia and another Balkan countries.

The Cevapcici can be described as grilled small skinless minced meat sausages. Originally this kind of sausages were made with ground lamb or beef, but nowadays beef or pork are more common.
For my recipe, I'll mix of all three! But twist a bit by substituted ground chicken instead of ground pork. Then seasoned with lots of garlic, red onions and chili flake. 🌶

This Cevapcici recipe is very simple, and there are a few special components for this recipe. First is baking soda which it helps ground meat to more softness, tenderize and less dense. Then make sure to chop the red onions and garlic as finely as possible. And let's rest the mixture in the fridge at least 4 hours or over the night. 😀

I prefer to served my Cevapcici with a delicious rice of Djuvec and are perfectly enjoyed with a thinly slice of red onions on top. This easy Djuvec rice is a healthy and easy side dish and definitely enjoy on their own or perfect side dish with Cevapcici.

Djuvec Rice made with veggies like onions, carrots, tomatoes, garlic, corn and peas. Then seasoning with salt, pepper, chili flake and tomato puree which all cooked up with chicken stock in one pot. I also twist the instruction by cooking rice with rice cooker. 🍚
