Today, I would like to show you guys how to cook Fried Thai Mackerel with Red Curry, which is one of the most common dishes eaten at Thai household. 🇹🇭

Pla Tuu or Thai Mackerel for Thai people is like sausage to German people, especially steamed mackerel. 😆 Every one love to eat this small steamed mackerel because it's could finish them all and very cheap at the time. 🐟

Thai foods have various menus with Thai Mackerel as fried fish, fish curry, boiled fish, and many more. Today, I’m pleased to present you one of delicious Thai Mackerel dish, fried Thai mackerel with red curry. The curry sauce is sweet and slightly hot with red chili paste. You'll love it! 💕

The Thai Mackerel was deep fried until crispy outside but still soft moist tender inside. Then brought to stir fried in red curry paste with an addition of fish sauce, and palm sugar. Topped with thinly sliced kaffir lime leaves, red chili and a dash of coconut cream for its aromatic taste and smell.

  • 6 Steam Thai Mackerel

  • 1/4 Cup Rice Bran Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Coconut Cream
  • 3 Tablespoon Red Curry Paste
  • 1 Tablespoon Fish Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Palm Sugar

  • 4 Kaffir Lime Leaves
  • 2 Chili
  • 1 Thai Basil Leaves

Instructions!

 

Deep Fried Preparation

 

  • Heat up a amount of oil and then deep-fry the fish over the medium-high heat.

  • Deep fired until the appearance becomes golden and crispy.

  • Set it aside.

Red Chili Curry Paste Preparation

 

  • Add more oil to heat up.

  • Then add in red curry paste, and stir fry until aromatic.

  • Add the fish sauce and palm sugar in the wok.

  • Stir fry until well combined.

  • Pour the coconut cream water into the wok and stir them quickly until it forms a thick sauce.
