This is going to be a short post, because there's really not that much to say about the topic. It's yet another example how mainstream media paints a narrative that is simply not factual, and shapes public discourse into something toxic and divisive.

It's not just online media that thrives on sensational click-bait, it's mainstream media as well. Headlines, clickable or not, are designed to draw in readers and viewers, and in visual media it helps if the images used are spectacularly sensational as well. We're talking about the BLM protests, as indicated by the title, and to this day people's opinions and lives are affected by the general impression left by the media's lust for spectacle; most recently during the Rittenhouse trials, where BLM protesters were labeled as "rioters" and the prosecution was forbidden to label the three men shot by Rittenhouse as "victims."

Antifa and BLM have successfully been stigmatized by right wing media as "the real fascists," with help from the mainstream "liberal" media that loved to show pictures of violence, looting and arson. They've been accused of "burning down cities." Given the media reports and the extent of the coverage, I find it remarkable that there are still cities left standing in the United States. The truth of the matter is that BLM and Antifa protests have been overwhelmingly peaceful; 94 percent peaceful, in fact. By the media's efforts to show "burning cities," because I guess the masses of people of all colors weren't impressive enough, this figure will sound unbelievable; I know of at least one judge that acted as if this figure doesn't exist...

So, please watch the below linked video. It's an impressive piece of investigative internet-journalism, breaking down the numbers of the BLM protests, including extensive definitions of what's counted as "peaceful" and what's not. And share it with friends, family and others you know of who still maintain that BLM and Antifa are violent extreme left wing organizations that need to be stopped at all costs.
