EcoTrain Question Of The Week season 8:4//If Not You Then Who? If Not Now Then When?.

Taking 100% responsibility for our actions is one of the most difficult task to conquer as humans. We always find comfort in the blame game, we expect the government to make our life better, we expect our parents to pay our bills, and the society excluding ourselves to fix the problems. It's always about them not us. Most times we are completely dependent on our rulers that we neglect doing the small things even down to the street we live. Most often we allow ourselves believe our contribution doesn't count, and wouldn't be blame for anything that happens around us.

When I was still living with my parents and siblings, we had chores divided among ourselves. As long as anyone among us was done with his chores, he believed the other person's chores did not concern him. No one cared if the other person was around or busy with another work, the work apportioned to him was left undone. This mentality all started from the grassroot (household) and transferred to the society and country as large. We already believed the government is responsible for the construction of roads, provision of employment, etc. Therefore we expect that everything that falls within that circle should be done by the government.

If Not You Then Who? If Not Now Then When?" Everyone of us is responsible for the growth and fall of our society and country. whatever we do not only gain recognition from the top but also help us live a comfortable lifestyle. What action did you see in your community that should be taken? Take a step, because if not you, then who? And if not now, then when?. Procrastination and inaction goes hand in hand, we always believe there's enough time to get things done and anytime could be perfect, while we sit discussing how the government has been useless and inactive.

The major reason why people look upon other people to do a task is the ideology of leadership and roles. People forget the fact that everyone is a leader. Until we start considering ourselves as leaders, we would only keep.looking at the people at the top expecting that they will make a change. The change begins with us, it begins from us. Until our mindset has been renewed about our roles, we may still believe that the government should only be responsible for everything. Before anyone makes a change, why wouldn't you take the first step, if you think now is not the perfect time, then when?.
