Hello friends I hope you are very well. Today Monday the beginning of the week I want to present what I did over the weekend while taking care of my little daughter. I made the Optimus prime helmet. I was watching the Bumblebee movie and the design of Optimus Prime seemed great, more attached to the animated series, nothing to do with the design of the Michael Bay movie that I did not like at all. Honoring that great leading character of the Autobots, I hope you like it.
Hola amigos espero que se encuentren muy bien. Hoy lunes comienzo de semana quiero presentar lo que hice el fin de semana mientras cuidaba a mi pequeña hija. Hice el casco de Optimus prime. Estuve viendo la película de Bumblebee y me pareció genial el diseño de Optimus Prime, más apegado a la serie animada, nada que ver con el diseño de la película de Michael Bay que no me gustó para nada. Haciendole honor a ese gran personaje lider de los Autobots, espero que les guste.
We can take a classic papercraft model as an example so we can do it on paper or on top of the can. I drew the templates on the can and took out the parts. Like this one that is from the lower part of the face.
Podemos tomar como ejemplo un modelo papercraft clásico así podemos hacerlo en papel o encima de la lata. Yo dibujé las plantillas sobre la lata y fui sacando las partes. Como esta que es de la parte inferior del rostro.
The next step is to make the base that supports almost the entire helmet, this base will help us to form the face. We cut it and with the help of tweezers we fold it to make it look good. Then with glue we join both parts.
El siguiente paso es hacer la base que sostiene casi todo el casco, esta base nos ayudará a formar el rostro. Lo recortamos y con ayuda de unas pinzas doblamos para que quede bien. Después con pegamento unimos ambas partes.
Now it is the turn of the eyes. We make a small strip and draw the eyes on it, then we cut in another part following the same measurements, we draw the eyes in blue and we cut it out and stick them on the strip that we made before. Then we take the entire eye area and insert it into the piece that we made before.
Ahora le toca el turno a los ojos. HAcemos una pequeña tira y dibujamos en ella los ojos, luego cortamos en otra parte siguiendo las mismas medidas dibujamos los ojos en color azul y lo recortamos y los pegamos en la tira que hicimos antes. Después tomamos toda la zona de los ojos y la introducimos en la pieza que hicimos antes.
Then we will make these horns that look like batman ears hehe. This piece surrounds the helmet, we cut it out and mark the parts that we will bend, we will use the same tweezers. We fold and then we put glue and we will join it with the pieces that we made previously. We can see the great progress the helmet has made up to this step.
Luego haremos estos cuernos que parecen las orejas de batman jeje. Esta pieza rodea el casco, la recortamos y señalamos las partes que doblaremos, utilizaremos las mismas pinzas. Doblamos y luego ponemos pegamento y lo uniremos con las piezas que hicimos anteriormente. Podemos ver el gran progreso que tiene el casco hasta este paso.
Now we have to make the upper helmet, for that we make this piece that will transform when we fold it in a circle. With glue we are fixing it on the top. To finish this step we place a small strip between the piece we made and the eyes.
Nos toca ahora hacer el yelmo superior, para eso hacemos esta pieza que se transformará cuando la doblemos en un círculo. Con pegamento la vamos fijando en la parte de arriba. Para finalizar este paso colocamos una pequeña tira entra la pieza que hicimos y los ojos.
In the middle of the upper helmet there is a headband very similar to that of the Gundam RX robot, they are very similar models so I took the model of that helmet to make this one. Once we cut the template, we fold it with some pieces and we put glue on it, then we place in the middle of the helmet from the eyes and join both parts.
En la mitad del yelmo superior va una diadema muy similar a la del robot Gundam RX, son modelos muy parecidos así que tomé el modelo de ese casco para hacer este. Una vez cortamos la plantilla, la doblamos con unas pienzas y le echamos pegamento, despúes colocamos en la mitad del yelmo desde los ojos y unimos ambas partes.
To finish we will place the last two pieces that go on the side of the helmet. So we will have finished our Optimos Prime helmet with soda cans.
Para finalizar colocaremos las últimas dos piezas que van en la parte del costado del casco. Así habremos finalizado nuestro casco de Optimos Prime con latas de soda.
The final finishes I liked a lot, when using a can of the Pepsi cola brand it was advantageous because of the blue color, as a base for the helmet I used the motor of a computer hard disk to have a better aesthetic since I have many and I usually use them as a pedestal for the helmets I always make. Making this full-body robot would be a big challenge, but now I don't have enough material. I hope you can carry out this project for the new year. Or maybe use other materials. Los acabados fianles me gustaron mucho, al utilizar lata de la marca pepsi cola fue ventajoso por el color azul, como base para el casco utilicé el motor de un disco duro de compotadora para tener una mejor estética ya que tengo muchos y suelo usarlos como pedestal para los cascos que siempre hago. HAcer este robto de cuerpo completo sería un gran desafío pero ahora no cuento con el material suficiente. Espero que puieda llevar a cabo este proyecto para el añi nuevo.
