Degeneration and Pests

Treat living things as they live, communicate well, and they will grow well too.

It sounds so cliché, but it's so real. For owners of ornamental plants and pets, this really works for us, that having ornamental plants or pets is not just caring for, feeding or guarding, but must keep communicating in order to give positive affirmations to them. This is done so that the bonding is maintained and the plant or pet remains healthy, growing and comfortable.

Bad things happened to me this season, where 50% of my ornamental plants experienced degeneration, a growth decline that occurred due to my negligence during these 2 months not to take care of my ornamental plants properly. To be honest, lately I've been feeling tired and unmotivated because I'm not feeling well emotionally because I'm taking hormone medication. What happened was, I forgot to pay attention and take good care of my ornamental plants. I just watered and cleaned some fallen leaves without fertilizing, controlling pests and repotting some plants that were starting to fill up with roots in pots.

This morning, I just thought about checking out some of my favorite plants, of course I immediately realized that ornamental plants need me. This month I'm clearly not thinking rationally because I also just lost my cute cat, Kepin. I remember the memory with Kepin because usually every morning Kepin always accompanies me to water the plants and even casually waits for me to repot the plants or just mix fertilizer for my plants.

Maybe losing Kepin is one of the saddest things this year because he has been with me since we moved house, and of course no one accompanies me at home when my husband goes to work. I feel alone and helpless without doing anything, I sleep and lie down all day doing nothing, mostly just cleaning the house and cooking, in the afternoon I start writing and working.

As you can see in the picture, that some of my plants are degenerating and not growing enough to have new leaves, there are some internodes that fail to grow, but the stems are still elongated. It happened with my esqueleto plant which should have grown thick. 2 leaves that failed to grow, only a few small leaves grew, I'm also confused about this because it rarely happens, and I don't know anything about this. Even though the roots are so thick and always exposed to rain water and protected by UV roof so that the leaves don't turn yellow.

In addition, pests from leaf-eating caterpillars when the rainy season begins, but I did not find a single caterpillar in my garden. There are some leaves that have been eaten by naughty caterpillars wandering around not knowing where, I tried to search in the afternoon (the right time to look for leaf caterpillars) but really couldn't find anything.

This type of Sente Varigata plant has started to have some saplings, I should have been able to move it to a new pot and divide some tillers to grow better. Usually when the saplings have started to grow, I will distribute them to several people who ask, this is so that my plants are not too dense in my very small garden. I got this varigata sente from my aunt in Rantau Prapat, I took it one night on a trip. This plant is a type of plant that is strong, easy to care for and fast growing.

Not only sente varigata, the anthurium clarinervium that I have has also added a lot of leaves, these two plants are hardy and live on their own, even have high stems like antennae, the leaves also grow wide and the leaf fiber is better than when it first came from farmer. But it's not big enough for me to multiply. Because this anthurium clarinervium still has a stable price if it is sold, there are still very many fans of this ornamental plant collector.

Looks like in the future, I will be busy taking care of some of my plants, I don't want them to hate me more and eventually die. It turns out that the mood can destroy my garden which is full of these plants, I will sell some plants and give them to those who are interested. Don't forget, for those of you who are ornamental plant owners, give enough attention, because it will have a positive impact and grow quickly.
