Greetings everyone! This time, I would like to take you to an old pagoda in my hometown. As this was a normal day, not many people go there also there is no special ceremony to celebrate, but I do love walking surrounding here while there is no crowds. A lots of my childhood things to see, and I have come across some unique country church.

Well, I visited this pagoda with my mother. I also asked somebody who stay near my house and my family members as well, but seems like no one want to come with us because it was 2 am and the weather was so hot. However, we were fine since we love traveling.

In the church, they don’t allow people to take pictures inside, and must remove your footwear before entering the inside. Your back, shoulders and knees must also be covered by skirt or plant. As I walked into the church, there is a stunning paintwork inside on the roof. Not a lot of things to see, but nice to see the monk and listen to Dhamma.

Cannonball Tree

Its flowers have a good smell which could be used to add scent in cosmetics and perfumes. Some people say it is edible, but not many people eating it since it has a strong smell. There is about 3 or 4 Cannonball tree in the pagoda. Well, I used to see this tree when I visited Siem Reap, but it was too far for me to notice. I just know its name when I take a few walk in the backyard of the pagoda, and my mom told me the name of it.

A visit to Prek Ombel pagoda gives you an insight into the spiritual teachings, philosophies and history of Buddhism especially when you come to visit the church.

The backyard with small buildings is what I had come to see and take a few walk in this pagoda. You won’t feel hot even though it is 2 am in Cambodia because there are many big trees that make you feel fresh and cold. This really was the reason for my visit.
