Tesla - Being Environmentally Friendly is Sexy
To me, this tesla is a sexy car. Maybe not supercar sexy, but more like “yeah I've got $$$ bill ya'll but I've no need to show off;” sexy 😂
When I saw @derangedvisions latest photography competition theme (cars) I thought... 'Oh well, that is me out of the running' as I haven't owned a car for over 6 years now. But, in the comment conversation with derangedvisions I remembered that the hope street hotel, where LFC (Liverpool Football Club) players stay on the regular if they have an important match and Jurgen Klopp wants to keep them focused and away from the temptations of Liverpool's many bars, is just around the corner from my apartment 😂
So I thought maybe I might happen upon a Ferrari or Maserati if I took a daily wander past the hope street hotel... but no luck. Then I remembered that the football season hasn't started yet, so my chances of seeing anything special weren't very good.
But then I thought again when I realised that my next-door neighbour actually owns the hope street hotel and owns a pretty nice Tesla. My car photography prayers were answered. I'm not sure about in the States, but here in the UK seeing a high-end Tesla is still a pretty rare sight, and I have one sitting in front of my house outside of working hours.
The Georgian Quarter
I am extremely lucky to live in an apartment in the sought-out Georgian Quarter area of Liverpool. The pillared houses you can see in the background of the first picture is the block I live in. Now I'm a broke-ass writer, but we have something called social housing here in the UK - something set up by our former long-term socialist government who held power for a long time after the 2nd world war - I just thought I'd mention this as I hear so many morons deriding socialism here on hive when what they're really talking about is communism. There is a big difference between the two systems.
Anyway, social housing (housing associations & co-operatives) allow people like me to get lucky and end up being offered a good-sized one bedroom flat on one of of the most beautiful Georgian terraces in the city centre, living next door to the millionaire owner of a local boutique hotel. Housing associations provide a much-needed balance against the constant drive towards gentrification, which ultimately creates ghetto areas just so that property developers can get rich.
😂 But I'm getting away from the point of this post, and waxing political. Let's get back to the main event, the Tesla. Until I moved into this apartment 4 months ago I had never even seen a Tesla, and as I lugged my stuff up the 6 flights of stairs while moving in the guy nearly ran me and the removal men over as he came round the corner in this silently purring electric car.
To be fair, he apologised and introduced himself, proving that not all rich people are assholes.
So as my wandering during the week turned up no supercars I thought I'd enter these Tesla photos to Deranged Photography Contest in the amateur category. It fitted in with my philosophy as well, as I think that the quicker we can all reduce pollution to near zero, the better chance that our grandchildren will have a chance of living in a world that isn't toxic on so many levels. If I won the lottery tomorrow, there would be two Teslas parked up on my road.
The other aspect that I felt made these pictures stand out is the way the beautiful foliage of the terrace trees reflect in the windscreen of the jet black tesla, and with the pictures that face toward my amazing street the background of Georgian architecture which really sets off the sleek lines of this modern electric car.
How to convince my Neighbour to Let me Drive his Tesla?
But so far the lottery hasn't been kind to me, and my bitcoin stack doesn't stretch to buying a Tesla so I figure all I have to do is make friends with my millionaire neighbour so that I can give that bad boy Tesla a 'Top Gear' style street race to see how it performs against the multitude of souped-up tinted windowed Vauxhall Astras that every drug dealer in Liverpool seems to own. Plus they're always up for a 'rev the engine at the lights' type of drag race.
Believe me, when I did own a car (a rather old ford Mondeo turbo) I used to give it a try now and again and always got left in their dust. I always wondered why the hell a car full of drug dealers would risk getting pulled by the Bizzies (Liverpool slang for police) just to beat a shoddy Mondeo in a street race. 😂
But if I can get 'mister hope street hotel' to lend me his Tesla I might just have a chance at getting my revenge Tokyo Drift style.
