Covid has Finally Caught Up With Me.

"Daddy I have a little bit of a sore throat." coughed my 5 year old daughter who is a reincarnation of Liza Minneli before she's even dead yet.

"Oh really honey?"
"Yes and a cough."

"fuckity fuck fuck fucking fuckity fuckballs" I thought to myself while looking at her glowing red cheeks.

"Let's get out the old thermometer shall we."
38 degrees eh.
"What is that red light dad?"

"Okay honey, take some Calpol and go to bed and we will see how you are in the morning."

So I went downstairs and did what every man of the world does when the children complain about ailments. Told my wife.

Within seconds the wife had the antigen tests out and was preparing the tests like she was in her lab. She is a medical scientist by professional so the house turns into a mini lab when this stuff happens.

15 minutes later we found out both the 5 year old and the 1 year old had to old Covid. (She went in and done the boy in his sleep, poor fella)

The next morning I was feeling a bit burny in the aul lungs and I had a pain in the hernia and a cough.

"You have it don't you!" said my wife as she slowly moved her hand down to fetch the spare antigen test that was nestled in her sock.
"I don't have it." I said to her.
"I heard you cough upstairs."

She was right, I went upstairs to cough so she wouldn't cop.
My time was up, best to face the consequences. I had to take the dreaded test that would mess my life logistically up for the next 7 days.

"Spurs and Arsenal is tomorrow night."
"Tomorrow night."
"Now I have to watch the game on the dodgy box which is 20 seconds behind the real world."

"The delay is a nightmare especially when we go a goal down as I have vulture friends baying for my blood"
"I'l have to turn the phone off again"

So I have been ducking and diving for 2 years and it's finally caught up with me. The first time the whole family got it. But I didn't. This time was not so lucky.

So I still have the taste. Bit of cough and a sore throat. Lungs are burning. Very tired. You would know it's not a cold and you would definitely know you had it. My wife thinks I'm nuts when I told her it is attacking the weak spots in the body as my recent operation went well only until today where the area is rather painful.

So the kids are running around like 90. High energy shouting and roaring. While I am zonked. The wife is coming down with it too so we are in for an interesting 7 days ahead.
I am sure I will manage to get in a few posts during my isolation.

One plus is that we all have it out of the way before the holidays in Portugal in June and the kids now have had the virus twice so they are building up a nice little immunity for when the big one comes.

I thought I had completed Covid and it was gone but it got me in the end. That's what I get for my claim of Covid immunity.
So I'll be at home tomorrow which is today when this post goes out. @arsenal4life will be confident about this one. I can sense it, But it is the first time Arsenal played in the new stadium with a full crowd so I am looking forward to the atmosphere.
I'l be sitting there with my hot port 20 seconds behind the world hoping that this game will cure me!
