I Would Even Say Bizarre

It was harder than I thought. Not because of the indicated theme. Because of me and the lack of training. I miss training in everything now. For the brain, soul, and body (muscles). If for lack of muscle training I can have extenuating circumstances, age, covid, and some unfortunate accidents, for lack of brain training I can not say I have excuses. Of course, I had some activities but the biggest regret and the mistake made is that I abandoned reading in the last twenty years. Reading, books have been the main food of my brain and soul, since I learned to read and until ... the internet became accessible to me.

During my adolescence and youth in a repressive communist regime, I suffered mainly from a lack of access to everything that happens in Western society, from the art of all kinds to science and technology. This explains the hunger for these things when communism was removed and then the internet appeared. The Internet, which I consider the most accomplished of the twentieth century!

With time, the time and interest in reading died. Now I suffer because of this because I find that I write more and more hard, I find that I lack more and more information that should have been stored in the drawers of the brain. Now I have to turn to my newest friend, the internet.

I often used the phrase "Ohhhh, how Bizarre" or "This is Bizarre" when I saw or found something strange, something other than normal, but I never thought I might be misusing the word.

Now, for the POB Word of the Week, for #pob-wotw, proposed, mastered, rewarded, and judged by @calumam, "Bizarre", I have to turn, as I said, to the internet.

bizarre
adjective
UK /bɪˈzɑːr/ US /bəˈzɑːr/

B2
very strange and unusual:

A short and clear definition. But that doesn't help me much in writing about this word. Here I see mostly the lack of readings in recent years (too many years!). I can't think of anything that deserves to be shared with others.

Of course, the internet can help again and it does that with most of us but I don't want to go that far and take or comment on something written by someone else.

For me, these contests, in addition to helping a lot in finding a post topic, must also be a personal contribution. Your relationship with the subject! And my relationship with the subject of "Bizarre" seems to be null and void. Although I vaguely remember that strange things happened to me but now I find that I forgot them all.

So my joy when I saw this word proposed for this week because it is a beautiful word, I like how it sounds and what it means, we all think we are attracted to the less common and strange things, then it turned into worry. I think I write too little in #proofofbrain and #pob-wotw was my salvation! Now to miss it ...

Again, the " thing" hidden in my cranial box helped me. I say this because a colleague warned me that #proofofbrain doesn't ask us to refer to that " thing", that this is a mistake of those who post in this community. For me, it's okay. After all, if we still can't refer as we want to colors, to genres, I may not even use the name of the most fragile and important organ of the human being. Probably not to offend those who believe(or prove) they don't have.

Some Strange Photos (I would even say Bizarre)

So, I got a maybe saving idea (on this topic). Something in me suggested I look in my photo archive, I usually photograph a lot and I use a lot of photos in my posts. There is a possibility that I may find something somewhat bizarre or I may remember bizarre events in my life.

I like to look at the sky, I like the sea, the blue of the sea and because I don't have a sea at hand, I look at the sky that looks like a sea (for me, at least). Whoever likes the sky can't help but like the sun, the moon, and the clouds! And clouds can often be weird, taking on bizarre shapes!

Photographing the clouds to find the best images to participate in a photo contest, about the sun, after I started preparing the photos for posting, caught my attention ...

IMG_20210508_153422.jpg

The arrangement of the clouds shows me the image of a bearded man with the sun in the corner of his mouth. The fact that you keep the sun in your mouth indicates a strong character, the strongest.
I remember this figure from the paintings on the walls of the church where I went with my grandmother as a child.

I have always wondered if this (from icons and paintings) is the image of God. It could be because religion says that God made us in his image and likeness, then the reciprocal must be valid and God is like us!
I'm curious if you see this image in my photo (you have to move away from the image).
Please do not answer me now because comments are prohibited and you will be disqualified if you participate in the contest.

For me, this was the most bizarre arrangement of clouds.

I lived a whole year away from my home, in a city that I liked a lot, it's called Iasi and it's also called the historical capital of Romania. I'm not saying why because there would be a lot to say and that's not the point now. I lived in a block of flats, on the tenth floor, and that gave me a panorama of a part of the city and a wide view of the sky, all the way to the horizon. I saw and photographed many strange clouds ...

Very early in the morning, at sunrise, a strange and enormous cloud that resembles an equally enormous eye. It looks like someone of colossal size is looking at the city still asleep.

IMG_5608.jpg

It reminds me of SF movies where huge alien spaceships fly silently over the earth and although the dimensions are colossal, many people don't notice them. Most SF movies are weird!

Also in Iasi there is a theater, called Cub. It has a kind of mascot, a theater character hanging from the roof.

A rather strange and effective image, especially if you are a tourist and do not know this place.

Especially on moonlit nights but especially on foggy days, this image of the man hanging from a distance is very bizarre.

Because I mentioned the fog. Fog and darkness are the perfect ingredients for strange and bizarre images. In all horror movies and not only, to accentuate the tension and fear, the strangeness, but the action also takes place at night in the fog. Most of the murders took place in these conditions.

Next to my house, very close, is a fairly large park. We have to cross it when we want to get to the subway or other means of transport to go to the city center, or to work or the theater. For many years this park was not lit and many times I crossed it, my wife, as well, close to midnight. If it happens to be foggy or the moon is full, the feeling of discomfort sets in, and thoughts go only to terrible events.

I don't know why, but in those moments the branches of the trees looked weird, they seemed ready to grab our necks.

Moreover, in communist Romania, almost forty years ago, there was a serial killer that terrified the population, especially women. Two crimes happened in our park then and they remained in the collective and individual memory. Therefore, at night in the park, even if lights have been turned on now, any meeting with a stranger makes the heart beat faster.

In order for everything to be taken to the maximum, in the middle of the park are the ruins of a summer theater. A building with an amphitheater now invaded by vegetation, empty warehouses, and surrounding columns.

IMG_20200114_083505.jpg

A perfect place to host a ghost. Ghosts are some of the most bizarre appearances, aren't they? (Please do not answer this question ... you know, no comments!).

Statements appeared in the press that there was a ghost, the Woman in White. Exactly what we lacked to make the crossings of the park more exciting near midnight! That was a hoax, I crossed the park hundreds of times at night but I didn't meet any ghosts. That doesn't mean I haven't thought about it every time.

The atmosphere given by the foggy nights, a slight uneasiness (for me), and much more accentuated (for my wife) I found it in some photos taken from the home. Automatically thoughts and memories ran to the books read but especially to the last horror movie watched.

Especially if the moon also contributes.

IMG_20200114_001635.jpg

I took all these photos because I liked what I saw, I didn't think at all to capture something bizarre. The last ones I show you were made intentionally to look weird and bizarre. Also made for a photo contest.

IMG_20200307_185408.jpg

I tried to imagine what a meeting with aliens would be like.

IMG_20200307_190449.jpg

Of course, a self-respecting alien would not have allowed me to photograph him directly, at most he would have allowed me to photograph his shadow.

IMG_20200307_185401.jpg

I chose the shape of humanoid aliens, the most convenient for me. Is the theme of aliens a bizarre one, all their real appearances? or counterfeits have always been bizarre. During my youth, when the subject of the existence of aliens was in vogue, I was one of those who believed in their existence. Then there were a lot of books on this subject, full of photos of Unidentified Flying Objects.

Now I'm not so confident, and I have only one argument. If in the last century, when few people always had a camera with them, there were so many stories and photos about aliens, now, when almost every man on this earth has a camera phone, the stories
about aliens are diminished and the subject was almost forgotten.

That's all I could say about this word, "Bizarre." It's a word I like. I hope my photos have touched the subject and saved me.

I always regret it when it ends and I find it hard to leave. I let a character dear to me express this better than I do.
