The Apostate Must Rise (POB WOTW S6w5)

Ever since James prayed for his six year old daughter to survive the life threatening disease but died, he lost faith. He was raised in a Christian home, he learned God answers prayer and he had heard testimonies of people who spoke of God's awesome ways. He sat beside his daughter, with tears in his eyes, he had never prayed as hard as he did, hoping God would answer his prayer this one time, but again, He failed him. He had lost his wife a few years ago, two years later, he lost his job, his daughter was the only reason why he was consoled but again, she has been taken from him.

He held bitterness against God, everything about God displeased him. "No God exists" he told himself and was bent on inflicting pain to anyone who thought he did. He believed in scientific methods to everything that lived. His bitterness was based on the fact that God doesn't love , if he does, he should have seen his tears, he should have saved his little girl, or never would have allowed his wife to die. This burden of hatred was heavy in his heart, he stopped attending religious gatherings, tore down everything that reminded him of God, and lived as an atheist with strong proof that faith isn't feasible.

One fateful day, a young man approached him and asked him questions about faith. "God doesn't exist," he simply said. "Religious belief is just an illusion," he added. As they talked further, the young man wondered why he knew so much about the bible, yet had no faith and he decided to ask. All he understood from his speech was the vent of anger for all the suffering he had gone through, the unanswered prayers, and the losses he had had in the past.
"For everything that happened, there's a reason," the young man said. "I may not know but God knows better, all you need to do is ask". The young man added. For the last time he decided to ask, to be so sure that God does not exist and was so shocked with the revelation he received. Everything had happened for his good.
