What an interesting and informative article! Growing up in Africa, I am a little familiar with the history of the slave trade too. It really was quite a horrific and abominable practice! That humankind could steep that low is beyond me and makes me feel very hollow and sad inside. To be human, one must be humane, and the slave traders and masters were certainly far from that! So to answer your question, yes I do believe humans are the most advanced in the animal kingdom, but not all those who wear human skins, are actually humane enough to be worthy of the title.
