Yesterday i took a small trip in the inland of the island. There i discovered a village called 'Koronos'. It is one of the oldest villages of Naxos and is built at almost 600 meters height.

The special about this village is that it is built at a gorge. They did this because many many years ago pirates where coming to the island to steal the people so they built the houses in a place where it was more difficult to be found.

Because of the location of the village the only thing you see, except the houses, is steps. A lot of steps.

A small oasis at the bottom of the gorge.

It is famous also for the cheese.

But now not many people live in the village. Especial in the winter times it is like a ghost village.
