I have been in Portugal since last Saturday and since the dance celebration festival I’m going to is in Algarve I arrived in Faro. The last couple of days I have spent in Lagos and today I’m leaving for the dance celebration, which is about 30 kilometers from here.
I was happy just when I arrived. It felt so good to be out in the world again and I haven’t really been on a vacation like this in years. But it didn’t take long before I started to feel anxious. I have also been having a terrible headache (better now thankfully) so that didn’t help. I’ll really try and make the most of this trip but I have actually ben looking at flights back home. I wasn’t expecting this at all.
Anyway, I have been out exploring Lagos a bit. Even though that’s done rather quickly. I post this as a Wednesday walk since it’s not at all a guide to Lagos.
The sun was so bright so I actually didn’t see at all what I was taking a picture of (on my phone’s screen I mean). But some pictures turned out ok anyway 🙂
I also went swimming there. After all, I can’t really go to Algarve and don’t swim in the ocean (even though I really had to pull myself together considering how I was feeling). The temperature was similar to the lake in Sweden I have been swimming in so far this summer. I guess maybe 19 degrees Celsius. The temperature in the air though has been lower than I expected. I have actually been rather cold. I wasn’t prepared for that I didn’t really pack a lot of warm clothes. When I arrived in Faro it was 22 degrees and around 30 in Stockholm! But for the dance retreat it’s good. I imagined it would be very hot.
Abandoned buildings always fascinates me, especially when they are so central. Maybe it’s because I rarely see that in Sweden.
It’s always nice to see some street art. As you can see these pictures are from later in the day when I went out to have dinner. I also noticed far more things closer to the sunset when I wasn’t so blinded by the sun.
This merry-go-round was very cute. I happened to pass by just when they turned on the lights. Which was around 7.30 pm.
This is the same abandoned building as in the picture before, just from another side and on my way back home after dinner.
This is where I have been staying in Lagos. A villa with 6 rooms. This is the view from my terrace. I can’t complain about the accommodation. Clearly I need to shift my mindset somehow. I hope I’ll be among like minded people at the dance celebration. I wasn’t even aware I was feeling this bad before I left. Or I mean, I felt rather good. Not physically, no last week was very challenging in that way, but in good spirits.
Anyway, movement is always good and I have a lot ahead of me here in Portugal. Also going to a second retreat close to Porto 🙂

Love and blessings to you all 💚
