First portrait - Looking for a different style -

Hello! triz here! How are you?

Today I want to show you something different, this is the first piece of this series of self-portraits or portraits of some other person. --Full image at the end-- I want to be a little faster when drawing and also learn something different. What I think is great is also being freer when drawing and achieving a totally different style than what I'm used to. Generally I want to live doing details and I spend a lot of time fixing things which means drawing long hours. In the characters it is not bad to make details but in my personal pieces I want to draw them in another way. I guess later I'll find a middle ground between the two.

What happened to this first attempt? well I have an internal struggle with myself because on the one hand I am trying to be more random and give myself more freedom but on the other hand --I guess because of the custom-- I try to improve and detail things and that is not what I am looking for.

What do I think of the final result? I guess it's not bad, I imagine I'll improve little by little.

In fact it's ready since yesterday but can't post last night since the stupid internet didn't let me

Aleatory thoughts

I had high hopes for something and was hoping this could end my stress

I don't have much of myself here apart from what I do, so, well, why not put the two together?...

Although all these phrases seem to make no sense if they do.

But things didn't turn out the way I thought

I have received a big surprise from Splinterlands.

If you know me a little you will understand.

Although the sequence is altered

So, it was the opposite, how strange? no...

It's not my best moment so I decided not to explode and just have fun..

I was working on the character I chose for the Splinterlands contest and that's going well but I stopped it to do this!...

I hope that in a few years when I see it again it doesn't seem so strange to me and I want to delete it hahahahahahhaha...

It helped me realize that not everything is bad..

Now if I will show you how the process of this was.

~ 1️⃣ The sketch ~

For this portrait I was looking at the photos and this seemed to me that it would be good. As you can see in this first step I did not make a lineart, the truth is that I rarely do it ----Only if I need it, for some character or something like that--- So I just made a few lines and painted to give my "sketch" a bit of shape and it all made a bit of sense.

~ 2️⃣ The first steps with the shadows ~

Here it was taking a little more shape, you could see that it could be a face although I was trying to be free when painting, my brain and my hand were in constant confrontation so I just wanted to fix the strokes and although that It was not what I wanted but it was somewhat complicated not to do it hahahhaahahaa..

~ 3️⃣ **Face, no eyes?** ~

When I was working on this part I decided to change the brush, the one I was using before was very different and I was looking for harder strokes that could be better noticed, try not to use the brush so small on many occasions. In the face there was a great advance although the budget was not enough to put some eyes on the girl hahhahahahha.

~ 4️⃣ **Not yet! I wanted a little more* ~

Here it already looked a bit like the reference I had, but I don't know, I still wasn't convinced and decided to continue drawing a little more. At some point I added a little more clothes because although the original was there it was not like that and I did not feel that it looked bad as it was but in the drawing I saw it differently even though the breasts were smaller they looked bigger, so I tried reduce them a bit.

Final Result

This is the final result, something that I liked a lot and I wanted you to see a little were the lines that I made initially, I don't know why, but I liked them. Although it didn't turn out the way I had it in mind I guess I'll learn, this is what I meant by the fact that I wanted to play a little more with the colors and add something else, when I made the background I had a lot of fun, I used a lot of brushes with different styles, until I used the finger tool, I really liked how it turned out in the places I used it.

The eraser was very helpful in the background since I used several layers and erased some things and I was getting different results. Something that complicated me a bit was the lips Oh, my! ---I don't know how it turned out like this in the original´-- I tried several times with that until I got something similar.
