#iTravel Series 7 : Traversing The South of Cebu | Day 1 in Oslob

What a great time I had last weekend. I was able to visit the south of Cebu for the second time after the tightest Covid restrictions, and the first time after Odette.

The plan was to go to Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort, and after, shelter in a nearby inn for a day, visit food parks, and enjoy the beach from the other sides of the south to give justice to the long travel from our place to the destination that was roughly 4 hours.

We left home early at 7:00 in the morning. We were trying to catch the 12:00 noon scheduled boat transfer from the mainland to the island resort of Bluewater Sumilon. We headed first to a pet hotel, Furry and Friends in Cebu City to give our Clingy doggo "Coco" a comfortable shelter and friendly staff to take care of him while we are away. It saddened us all that we couldn't bring him with us, as he is not allowed at the resort and in the inn that we booked. Fortunately, Coco's Hooman found a hotel for pets where Coco was staying for more than 24 hours, away from all the people he knows. We arrived at the pet hotel at 8:00, however, the hotel opened at 9:00. While waiting, we went to a fast-food restaurant nearby for our breakfast meals. Then, went back to the hotel and dropped Coco off.

It was already a quarter to 10:00 am, and we were still in Cebu city. We were no anymore sure if we could still catch the booked boat transfer at 12:00. We called the resort, clarified things, and decided to just move the resort visit to tomorrow. We opted for a restaurant instead just near Sumilon Bluewater.

We got caught up in the traffic in several towns while heading to our target stop for lunch. Election rallies were almost everywhere. But as we passed the city of Carcar, the travel had become smooth, the traffic lightened.

As we were nearing Oslob, the scenery had become more enjoyable. It radiated energy of serenity and peace, making our travel even more comfortable. The picturesque green landscape and soothing azure sea were so calming and relaxing.

At 1:30 in the afternoon, we reached Cocina En Acantillado in Oslob. The travel was long, and it was kinda hungering. We got Tinolang Manok, Chopseuy, Pancit Canton, and Pork Sisig. Concina En Acantillado has great foods which suited my and my travel buddies' taste preferences. It pleased everyone's palate.

The restaurant was by the sea with a scenic view of greenery, making it very much therapeutic for our eyes, plus not to mention the cold breeze from the sea that perfectly relaxed our tired spines.

Right after lunch, we opted for photoshoots. The place is stunning that we didn't miss the opportunity of taking more photos of the place.

It was past 2:00 when everything was done with Cocina En Acantillado. We went then to the inn where we were spending the rest of our first day with the south of Cebu. The check-in time was 2:00, so things were just timely. We had our booking in Melronz Inn at Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Oslob. The Inn is beachfront with 2 family or barkada rooms in its 2-story building. We were 8, 4 occupants for each room, so it was like we owned the entire inn for a day.

My body had been craving the sea for months. I couldn't even remember when was the last time I had beaching before this trip. I was the happiest then that the inn was by the sea. It means unlimited time with the seawater. Without second thoughts, after all the fixing and all that, we went swimming.

It was a low tide yet we still enjoyed the water so much. We talked randoms, played with water guns, and fed the silly child in us. It was such a fun great time with my favorite buddies in the ever-craved beaching.

Enough of the swimming and stuff at the beach, we took a rest while planning where to have our dinner. We went out, walked some distance away, and there found an unlimited Samgyupsal for our dinner. Food stalls and restaurants in Oslob are everywhere, so chill, there's nothing to worry about where to get food when you're there.

That sumptuous dinner concluded our day 1 in Oslob well. I will be sharing you in the next one our day 2. See you there!
