Blog #171: My Casaroro Falls Quick Adventure

Happy Tuesday Hivers!

Everytime I heard Casaroro Falls, a hard pathway will immediately come up into my mind because that's what I've read on-line. This waterfalls is located in Valencia, Negros Oriental.

After few times of moving the dates for my Casaroro Falls adventure, I finally pursued it yesterday but without my friend's presence. Originally, we both planned this adventure but since he had important commitment yesterday, he failed to go with me.

Yesterday was sunny day. Mr. Sun was shining brightly that you could hardly tolerate the scorching heat. Though it was so hot to travel but I pushed my plan to visit Casaroro Falls because that was a perfect weather for Casaroro Falls adventure.

I hired a driver/tour guide for this trip since I am not familiar of the place. On our way going to Casaroro Falls we passed by in this area and asked my tour guide/driver to stop and took photos.

As we arrived in the parking area, I have seen this reminder for the guests. After reading, we immediately headed to the starting point going to the falls.

Welcome to Casaroro Falls! Are you ready for Casaroro Falls adventure? Let's begin.

As we started our journey my tour guide kept reminding me to walk slowly and always hold the stair rails. He was afraid that I might fall or slide because of the slippery pathway.

The uprooted tree brought by the super typhoon Odette was still there because no one maintains the area. It has been remained close since the pandemic started but whoever wishes to visit the place, they can still go and explore at their own risk.

Do you know how many steps going down? It has 335 steps. And it became steeper when you almost reached to the lower part. I could feel my knees shaking because I'm not used to walk steep stairs.

And as we walked further, we encountered another uprooted tree hinders our way.

I felt happy when my driver/tour guide told me that this stairs will be the last steps of stairs to complete the 335 steps. But opppsss we hiked approximately 300 meters from the stairs before we got to see the magnificent Casaroro falls.

This pathway is ok because there is a clear road and it is just flat.

But as we went further, the pathway became difficult again because the bridge was ruined after the typhoon Sendong and we don't have other option except crossing to the big rocks and flowing water.

And next we crossed to another damaged bridge but it was just manageable. You should only be careful.

While we continued hiking, we were able to meet other people. And the girl in the left was my new found friend who went to Casaroro falls by herself. She's absolutely brave.

While waiting for our turn, I was able to capture this photo of a girl who found difficult of crossing the strong current of water.

My tour guide never failed to assist me. Eventhough we encountered difficult pathways but I was calm and I didn't feel anxious because he assisted me all the time.

After we took few difficult pathways, this magnificent natural wonder welcomed us. I just stood and stared the falls for few minutes before it sank in that I was already there.

We came closer to Casaroro falls because we wanted to clearly see her beauty.

And it was more beautiful if you get closer to her.

How could I feel tired if I am in front of this wonderful scenery. All the feeling of tiredness were vanished.

Even to blink few seconds is the thing I don't want to do while I was in front of the falls.

It seems that there's something I will miss if I would blink my eyes.

While I was busy taking photos, I was able to capture this new found friend who enjoyed her own company. Do you know what she did? She was drinking her coffee while she enjoyed seeing the beauty of nature. Cool, right?

She doesn't want to leave the falls yet when we about to leave but since the current of the water became stronger and my tour guide shared his bad experience to the place, she immediately decided to also leave the wonderful spot.

This is my last closer photo I took before saying her adiue.

While we're on our way back to the entrance area, it was tiring to climb the steep stairs. As a person who is not into climbing I easily got tired. I was grateful to my new found friend because she kept talking while we both ascending the stairs and I was completely entertained to the point that I haven't noticed we were finally arrived to the entrance area.

We took rest first in the restaurant and had some refreshments before we say good bye to each other.

That was my Casaroro Falls adventure. I hope you enjoy reading my quick adventure.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
