Greetings
As many of you may have been aware, we plan to start a month-long comedy tournament, officially named The COMedy Rumble which starts NEXT WEEK.
In this post, I will introduce the categories so everyone can be made aware of them and answer any inquiries any of you might have.
The Categories
There are no first, second, or third place ranking in the COMedy Rumble. There are only winners of different categories. Starting with
The Comedy Title
Throughout the first week of the contest, we will have our regular COMedy contest with one person becoming the winner, of course. Except, there's a twist this time.
Once the winner is picked, they carry the COMedy title and have to defend it next week as it will also be considered for prizes the week after.
The comedy title will only change holders once a funnier post is written.
The Longest Laugh
Whenever the funniest post is written, a timer starts.
The goal of this category is to have the funniest post for the longest time.
Here's a breakdown:
Let's say person A wrote the funniest post on the 5th of July and a funnier post was written by person B on the 25th and remains the funniest until the Rumble is over, the Longest Laugh title would belong to person A as it would have been the funniest for 20 days.
The COMedy Counter
Now, when judging posts, each post is rated out of 10. The winner of this category is whoever has the most points by the end of the Rumble.
Here's a breakdown:
Let's say person A wrote 5 posts throughout the Rumble each receiving 7 out of 10 while person B wrote 4 and received 8 out of 10 for each.
Person A would have a total of 35 points
Person B would have a total of 32 points
Person A would be the winner of the COMedy Counter title.
P.S: The posts will be judged harder as a new post is written by the same author. Some posts could actually be given negative points which will be deducted from the overall total.
The COMedy Average
Unlike the COMedy Counter, this one will go based on the average of total posts rather than the total.
So, if we use the previous breakdown:
Person A would average 7 out of 10
Person B would average 8 out of 10
Person B would be the winner of the COMedy Average title.
The COMedy Nerd
This one will be the highest in value and will be given based on different criteria including post quality and engagement.
Honorable Comedians
We don't want to waste everyone's time, so we will have rewards for honorable mentions.
THE RUMBLE STARTS NEXT WEEK
There will also be more rewards, but you'd have to join Listnerds to earn them. As well as other categories which will be mentioned next Thursday along with the prizes.
As for now, if you have any questions, I will gladly answer them.
