This series has something very particular that separates it from the most and that is that its focus is to pursue your passions, set goals and strive until the end to achieve them, all this represented with the world of art and unlike the thousands of anime series with a lot of content, from action, magic, life stories, romance, comedy, etc, this one takes a interesting route to reach it's end.
Esta serie tiene algo muy particular que la separa de la mayoría y es que su enfoque es perseguir tus pasiones, trazar metas y esforzarte hasta el final para lograrlo, todo esto representado con el mundo del arte a diferencia de las miles de series de anime que tienen una gran cantidad de contenido, desde acción, magia, recuentos de la vida, romance, comedia, etc, esta toma una ruta interesante para llegar a su destino.
INTRODUCTION
Blue Period is a manga created by the author Tsubasa Yamaguchi which had an anime adaptation by the Seven Arcs studio and began its broadcast on Japanese television from October 2, 2021 to December 18 of the same year, consisting of only 12 episodes and are also found on the Netflix platform. At first glance, the series appears to be something simple about a boy who wants to learn about art, but it is much more than that.
Blue Period es un manga creado por la autora Tsubasa Yamaguchi el cual tuvo una adaptación en anime por parte del estudio Seven Arcs y empezó su emisión por televisión japonesa desde el 2 de octubre del 2021 hasta el 18 de diciembre del mismo año consistiendo en solo 12 episodios y también se encuentra en la plataforma de Netflix. A primera vista la serie se muestra como algo sencillo sobre un chico que desea aprender sobre arte, pero es mucho más que eso.
The story revolves around Yatora Yaguchi, a high school boy with an excellent academic performance but who does not know what to do with his future, he does not know what career to aspire to, much less which university to attend, when he is not studying he is having fun with his friends from high school (some that at first glance do not seem to be the best influence) playing, watching movies and soccer games, smoking, drinking, wandering somewhere, all in order to lose himself and not think too much. On a school day he crosses the hall with an old friend named Ryuji "Yuka" Ayukawa, a boy who is in a struggle to understand his sexual orientation and dresses as a woman even in class, Yatora realizes that Yuka is carrying something similar to a table on his back which arouses his interest. Having to go to the art room to look for something forgotten, he comes across a large canvas with an unfinished design of an angel and it caught his attention, he approaches to it and begins to detail things, and after an exchange of words with Yuka and her art teacher Masako Saeki, he begins to question things about himself, about the future and what it meant to be passionate about something.
La historia gira en torno a Yatora Yaguchi, un chico de preparatoria con un excelente desempeño académico pero que no sabe qué hacer con su futuro, no sabe a qué carrera aspirar y mucho menos a que universidad asistir, cuando no se ocupa de sus estudios está fuera de casa con sus amigos de la preparatoria (unos que a simple vista no parecen ser la mejor influencia) jugando, viendo películas y partidos de fútbol, fumando, bebiendo, vagando por algún lugar, todo con tal de perderse a sí mismo y no pensar en el futuro. En un día de clases se cruza por el pasillo con un viejo amigo llamado Ryuji "Yuka" Ayukawa, un chico que está en una constante lucha para comprender su orientación sexual y se viste como mujer incluso en clases, Yatora se da cuenta que Yuka está llevando algo parecido a una tabla en su espalda lo cual despierta su interés. Al tener que ir al salón de arte a buscar algo olvidado se topa con un gran lienzo con un diseño sin terminar de un ángel y cautivó su atención, se le acerca y empieza a detallar cosas, y tras un intercambio de palabras con Yuka y su profesora de arte Masako Saeki, él empieza a cuestionarse cosas sobre él mismo, sobre el futuro y lo que significaba sentir pasión por algo.

It will be a long road in which he will test how far he is willing to go and if he will be prepared for the day of the entrance exam.
Pero no fue hasta que interactuó con Maru Mori, la autora del cuadro, que algo hizo verdaderamente clic en él, empezar a entender que su perspectiva de las cosas tiene valor, que él tiene mucho que expresar, que su mente en realidad buscaba era esa manera de darle forma a aquello que le apasionaba sin saberlo, descubre que en realidad si tiene interés en el arte pero no sabía cómo darle uso. Ahora, su meta es entrar a la Universidad de Arte de Tokio, y aun sabiendo lo difícil que será y que tiene mucho que aprender, hará todo lo posible para dominar las ramas del arte necesarias, vivir el estrés, la frustración y el gozo, conocerá a algunos aspirantes que se harán sus amigos y rivales por el cupo, a Yotasuke Takahashi un chico con un gran talento, un genio, con un carácter estoico, duro y modesto del cual Yaguchi sentirá admiración; Haruka Hashida, un peculiar sujeto con un estilo y predilección en su arte, carismático y analítico con una constante sonrisa en su rostro; Maki Kuwana, una chica que proviene de una familia de artistas, no hay nada entre sus obras que no destaque, de apariencia descuidada pero aguda con sus palabras, y muchos más con los que Yaguchi compartirá momentos y aprendizajes. Será un camino largo en el que pondrá a prueba hasta donde está dispuesto a llegar y si estará preparado para el día del examen de admisión.

It is a series of fighting for your dreams, of fighting for yourself, for what you want to achieve.
Como mencioné antes, la serie no es solo acerca de cómo Yaguchi intenta aprender arte y conseguir su puesto en la universidad, cuando se observa más a fondo y a los detalles, podemos ver que el mensaje principal son las pasiones, cuantas veces no nos ha pasado que no sabemos qué hacer con nosotros mismos, que nos hemos debatido entre un supuesto deber y lo que queremos así el mundo pretenda saber mejor lo que es mejor para nosotros. Es una serie de luchar por tus sueños, de luchar por ti, por lo que quieres lograr.
It shows in a very clear way that even what we love and we are passionate about can hurt us when we do not rest, when we obsess, when pressure invades us, it reminds us of the importance of pausing and evaluating what we do and have done. Something that I highlight about the series is how it is not the typical one that shows you a protagonist who is miraculously a genius and everything turns out perfect on his first try, no, here we have a character who earns his place based on effort, commitment and tears. They show us the genuineness of fighting and that many times you feel that you cannot achieve it because you compare yourself with others who have more experience, more talent, who were born gifted for that world, of that desire to drop everything and give up and just play it safe. It's not just an art series, it's a very personal series when you focus on it.
Muestra de una manera muy clara que incluso aquello que amamos y nos apasiona puede hacernos daño cuando no descansamos, cuando nos obsesionamos, cuando nos invade la presión, nos recuerda la importancia de hacer una pausa y evaluar lo que hacemos y hemos hecho. Algo que destaco de la serie es como no es la típica que te muestra a un protagonista que milagrosamente es un genio y todo le sale perfecto en su primer intento, no, acá esta un personaje que se gana su lugar es a base de esfuerzo, compromiso y de lágrimas. Nos muestran lo genuino de luchar y que muchas veces se sientes que no puedes lograrlo porque te comparas con otros que tienen más experiencia, más talento, que nacieron dotados para ese mundo, de esas ganas de soltarlo todo y rendirse y solo ir por lo seguro. No es una simple serie de arte, es una serie muy personal cuando te enfocas en ella.
Something that I also liked is that each character has a very marked personality, they are not the generic characters that only serve as support for the protagonist, here they show you their strengths, weaknesses and even dreams. On them, there is not only an interest in the development of art and the search to achieve their goals, there is also personal development and many questions about themselves.
There is no romance, yes, it is something strange in an anime because normally something always happens, even if it is a distant crush, but do not expect to find female characters interested in the protagonist or him interested in someone, I liked this because there is an interesting message and it is giving priority to yourself, where the time you invest is in reaching your goal, it is an excellent touch.
Algo que también me gustó es que cada personaje tiene una personalidad muy marcada, no son los genéricos personajes que solo sirven de apoyo para el protagonista, acá te muestran sus fortalezas, debilidades e inclusos sueños. Hay no solo un interés en el desarrollo del arte y búsqueda por alcanzar sus metas, hay también el desarrollo personal y muchos cuestionamientos.
No hay un romance, si, es algo extraño en un anime porque normalmente siempre algo pasa, así sea un enamoramiento a distancia, pero no esperen encontrar personajes femeninos interesadas en el protagonista o él interesado en alguien, me agradó esto porque hay un mensaje interesante y es darte prioridad a ti mismo/a, en donde el tiempo lo inviertes es en alcanzar tu meta, es un toque excelente.

Se que muchos acá no verán anime, pero esta serie lo vale, estoy seguro que si le dan una oportunidad no los va a defraudar, es incluso ideal para muchos que empezamos acá en HIVE.
