Airdrop season, packs and choices

The sales of Chaos legion packs have slowed down somewhat but that's welcome development for anybody looking to invest in the game. The reduction in the pace of pack purchases opens up an opportunity for smaller investors and it also ensures that more people can gain from the airdropped monsters.

At this moment, there are only 30k packs standing in between the release of the next airdropped monster. The monster in question has already been announced, with details shared on both Twitter and Hive.

In the next day or two, the new monster will be airdropped on people that bought chaos legion packs. Note that it is all your purchased packs that count, rather than the packs you bought after the last airdrop.

The level of competition for assets in the game has really dampened my expectations. Personally, I'm just grateful that I'm in a position to participate in the sales and play my part in the growth of the project.

At the time of writing, I've bought 527 packs in total. In the past, I'd be almost assured of getting the airdrop but in the past, one million packs weren't getting sold-out like fresh hot bread.

Anyway, I'm still over 400 packs away from my target of 1k packs and the crazy part is that it still doesn't assure me of anything.

Speaking of my target, I actually set that goal with the mindset that the pace of sales will be much faster than it currently is. However, things are proceeding a little bit slower than I thought, so there might be time to get a little bit more after.

Assuming the sale lasts for another two months, getting to 1k Packs will be achieved. However, if this sale drags on for five months, as some have predicted, then I'm likely to buy even more than 1k packs.

Looking at the crypto market today, there's a huge possibility that sales drag on for a long time. However, based on the last one million packs sold, I don't think it will be too long.

It must have seemed "slow" but you need to note that one million packs were sold since the last airdrop and that's pretty incredible when you think about it.

Getting to diamond

My short term goal for my battling is to break into the Diamond league. At the moment, my collection power doesn't enable me to enter the league but that's not the real problem.

The real issue for me is actually battling my way into the higher league. The quality of opposition are nothing to joke with and I have to accept that I might not just be good enough to cut it at that level.

If I'm going to have any chance, I need to get all my common monsters to level 7, rare monsters to level 6, epics to level 4 and legendaries to level 3. This will give me a better chance of breaking into the Diamond level.

Upgrading my deck will cost money and that's money that I don't have. The tediousness is also compounded by the fact I'm trying to buy packs before other investors buy them all from under my nose.

Not unless something monumental happens in the crypto market, my only option is to shelf one dream for the other. Sadly, both dreams can be ruined by sudden changes in the market.

At this moment, the price of monsters are relatively cheaper than they use to be. The general price of assets on the market was affected by the wider market condition.

I don't think there's going to be any bounce anytime soon, but what if I'm wrong? A bounce will favour my chances of buying more packs but could work against my chances of buying monsters.

My plan is to find a way to do both ventures and that's what I've been doing so far but if I get too stretched, I'll have to shelf one for the other. If that time comes, I'll make a decision.
