This morning I had time to listen to the recording of the AMA for SPK Network from a few days ago.
While this is generally a more technical AMA for regular people, there are sections that might interest you.
The delegation of LARYNX tokens was discussed as a feature many users requested. It's not ready yet, but it will soon go into the testing phase.
As for the breakdown of rewards between those who power-up, delegate, or run a node, it hasn't been discussed yet, but they said it will be squeezed towards people who provide the infrastructure (run nodes), which makes sense.
One other point that came about and which regular users might be interested in is the fact that only about 20% of the total Hive stake claims LARYNX tokens.
There can be a nuance here that I didn't catch in the AMA and I didn't listen again.
Is it the case that 80% of the total Hive stake never claimed LARYNX tokens at all or 80% of the LARYNX tokens haven't been claimed?
People might say it's the same thing because the snapshot for LARYNX tokens was 1:1 with HIVE holdings, but it could be the case that some HIVE holders claimed their LARYNX tokens on the first month and never again. Or only on the months they remember or are being reminded of that.
Either way, 20% is a very low percentage. They drew the conclusion that's the percentage of active stake on Hive. But it's not necessarily true.
Development, while continuous, takes time, and people lose patience way too soon, especially in crypto. Which to me is a great thing... for those who stay on track.
Since the claim drop for LARYNX tokens started, I made the habit of reminding people to claim their tokens monthly. Either by publishing a new post like this one or by re-sharing an old reminder of mine on Listnerds (advantage for people who read emails inside Listnerds).
Since you read my post, you should be one of the 20 percenters. :) But maybe you know someone who is in the other 80%, and it's a shame to lose those free tokens, miners of SPK, nonetheless, at some point, on the SPK Network. Let them know if you do!
With so many unclaimed LARYNX tokens, the team discussed what to do. They said they will put it to a governance vote later on, and probably 15-20% of the unclaimed tokens will make it to the DAO. Not sure what would happen to the rest.
