One of the concepts of Hive which is hard for people to understand is that of the daily regenerating reward pool and each accounts daily regenerating voting power.
It’s important to understand that your Hive, which you power up as HivePower, allows you to upvote posts and comments with Hive coming from the reward pool. You are directing Hive to their account from the reward pool with your upvote, and it isn’t coming from your wallet.
Voting Power
The amount of Hive you can direct from the Reward Pool to other accounts with your upvote depends on your voting power. Your voting power is directly proportionate to your Hive Power. So the more Hive you power up, the greater the amount of Hive you can direct from the Reward Pool.
Every day you have ten 100% votes.So And just like the reward pool regenerates everyday, so does your voting power. in the DPOS system and how your stake based daily regenerating voting power distributes tokens from the daily regenerating reward pool. I thought it through and one word came to mind; abundance.
This DPOS concept is filled with abundance. You aren’t giving people tokens from your wallet, but voting for them to receive tokens from the reward pool. You aren’t giving people tokens from a finite or limited supply pool, because the reward pool regenerates daily.
This abundance is an important part of the beauty and magic of DPOS. This is like the ancient proverb that a single candle can light the wicks of a thousand candles, and it’s flame will not be diminished. The realization that you can distribute rewards, from this reward pool, to many different people, at no cost to yourself, everyday, and it never runs dry, is amazing.
Scarcity Mindset
I think that the anger I see on the platform is sometimes caused by a scarcity mindset. Because people see others rewards as money not going to themselves or someone else, and they feel those tokens are being stolen from all other users. But when you know the size of the reward pool and the number of actual content creators making content, you realize that much of the reward pool created each day and much of the voting power regenerated every day goes unused.
That’s right...it’s unused.

So in reality there is plenty of rewards and many aren’t distributed because many don’t use any or all of their voting power. Once you understand all these things, and the last point in particular. You start to think from a standpoint or place of abundance. This helps you to let go of your scarcity mindset and accept this abundance mindset and stop being angry, focus on making content or upvoting content and thus earning rewards of your own.
An abundance mentality brings calmness, satisfaction and happiness.
