I am a Guide and apprentice

Hello creatives of the weekend

I am amazed how the days go by so fast, the week is a blink of an eye, sometimes I don't get a chance to enjoy the community posts, or leave a comment, everything is so fast and at home my connection is unstable. It only allows me to connect in the early morning and that is exhausting.

This week as in the two previous weeks we are asked to talk about our talent to leave footprints in others, likewise, what character in my life has been significant.

I spent some time thinking about these questions, I think almost all day, looking for the right moment in my life where I have felt like an influencer for others other than my daughter. I realized that I am a guide but also a learner.

I am a Guide

Well, I recognized that as a teacher I am a role model, I am the reason why many young children and adults want to continue improving their academic level, acquire new skills or improve the ones they already have.

Being a teacher is to be in contact with many people, who want to know the best of me, learn from what I have to say or set an example. It is a great commitment, I assume it and I love being a teacher.

From my role, I see significant changes in my students, I admire how they create wonderful things from the guidelines I give them and even surpass me in what they do, very nice things because that is where I learn from them.

To be a teacher is to teach but also to learn. It is giving and receiving, always in gratitude.

I have had many students in my journey through my professional life, from preschool children, young people in college and adults already professionals who want to improve their teaching skills.

Each moment has been enriching, full of surprises, discoveries...

Having a group of students is a challenge to my teaching skills, is to seek new and better ways to teach and bring the message that I want to be understood, is to know each student, discover their interests and needs, support them to overcome their limitations and enhance their talents.

In my experience as a preschool teacher, I loved it very much, once my very young students drew me, making me see how important my classes were for them, they expressed through art the image they had of me and it was a great revelation to see me big in front of the class.

In another opportunity with my special education students, young people with intellectual disabilities, they managed to complete a binding process to have a production of notebooks that are then sold to support themselves economically in their studies or home needs.

To feel the wonderful power of public speaking, in front of an audience of teachers or representatives, who listen to what I have to say, then put into practice my guidance and then hear from them how well it has worked for them.

Each one of these experiences and more fill me as a guide, valuing me, making me improve myself every day.

I am an apprentice

On the other hand, teaching has given me the opportunity to meet valuable people who have guided my professional training, as well as have left traces in my personal life. Unique people who, as good teachers, are able to tell you straight to your face about your failures, give you advice and celebrate your successes.

In this journey through life, I have a splendid teacher, who was my professor at the university and I always admired him for his humility, his clarity in explaining, his love for the teaching profession and how important ethics and morals were to him. He saw the student as a being of light who has the right to shine very brightly, regardless of his physical or mental condition.

That university professor at the time was my co-worker, from this role I continue to learn from his way of transmitting security, empathy, love and always humble with an immense capacity to give.

At work he was my boss, a conciliatory, fair boss, who listened, ideas, promoted participation, a healthy work environment,
undoubtedly the best boss I had.

We became friends, friends who admire each other, who love each other, who meet and support each other in projects, who tell each other the good and the bad, but with a lot of love and respect.

In short, life always puts us in the role of apprentice or teacher, we always leave traces in the lives of others, the other always influences us positively or negatively, the idea is to have the power of discernment to take the best direction.

It was nice to write this post, thank you for reaching the end.

Until the next idea.
