It was another early morning again today. Waking up to the cool breeze of nature and the natural existence of the habitations around him. Joe stretched his arms while yawning, gazing at the high mountain a few kilometers from his house.

A few minutes later he put his hands on his waist while he stared at the mountains again and said to himself "I think I need some hiking". I should try this tomorrow.

He just got to the area two days ago, and he was to spend five days with his aunt living there. She is a businesswoman, so she hardly stays at home. Joe would have the whole day free of duties since his aunt is not at home. But on weekends she is always available and Joe would have to run all the house chores for her. So Joe prefers visiting on Mondays and leaving on Friday. But that's a different case this time around. He was there on Friday and would be leaving Tuesday.

Joe had planned his hiking trip for Monday since she would be out for work. He decided to sneak out of the home, get to the mountain and aim for the top.

The D-Day

Joe woke up in the morning intending to get outside while his aunt was still preparing for her workplace. It was about the time before she stepped out of the door she received a call and it was from one of her friends. She just called to remind her about her child naming ceremony. Oooh. Joe overheard their conversation while he was in the sitting room.

Aunt: Hello Sara

Sara: My friend where are you?.

Aunt: I am about to leave for my workplace.

Sara: Have you forgotten that today is my naming ceremony?? I would need your help friend. To arrange the chairs and prepare the food and some other pieces of stuff too.

Aunt: ooh. Am sorry I would make sure to join up with you as soon as possible. Because I have some unfinished business transaction to attend to for this morning.

Sara: okay no problem. I would try getting the stuff done until your arrival. But please try to get here on time.

Aunt: I would be sending my cousin over to your place now, he would be of good help to you since he has nothing to do at home. (Joe heard this and felt like saying something but I am sure she couldn't read his heart.)

Sara: Thanks so much I would be expecting him.
(The phone call ended).

Joe's aunt called him to tell him about her sudden decision which he would have to make up for. He nodded his head to his aunt's request meanwhile deep down his mind he got what he was going to do.

She waved him goodbye and went off to work. While Joe saw her off to the door side. He went back to the room and hurriedly packed up his hiking kits and got prepared for his next move. He has to beat up with the timing before his aunt arrives at the venue.

He had viewed his distance to be about 4km to the mountain. Then he got his fitness tracking device to calculate the amount of time he had to use to get there. Five hours into the hiking he never got to the mountain. He could have a closer view of it but the distance wasn't friendly. At some point, he decided to give up and find his way back home. But whenever he remembers that he should be at the ceremony avenue instead he would continue hiking with the thought of lying to his aunt

Finally, Joe stared at the mountain in front of him and smiled while he looked at his timer and realized he just hiked 24km at a duration of 6 hours. He was so tired that he couldn't even attempt climbing up the mountain top. After a few minutes under the tree, Joe slept off.

His aunt already got to be a venue but she didn't even remember she told Joe to be present at the venue. She had a nice time with her friends and they all discussed and dine together.

Joe was still on the struggle, trying to find his way back home he was extremely tired. Just one thing kept him moving which was the fact that he accomplished something on his mission, he got to see the mountain.

He already knew he couldn't make it down to the venue again so he head straight home. To his greatest surprise, he didn't meet his aunt at home, so he was a little happy about that. He quickly took his bath and went into his room.

He was already asleep when his aunt arrived but the knock on the door made him wake up. He went to open the door then his aunt remembered she asked him to help her friend. She asked if he was able to render the help successfully. Then he replied, "I lost my way while I was trying to locate the venue so I came back home".
