A Frozen Thought

A Frozen Thought

Adore is a beautiful young girl who happened to remain the kind of girl she was. She never allowed men into her life just because of the story her mum told her about her life and men. According to her mum, the first man that came into her life jilted her. She told her daughter that men are not to be trusted and are not to be reckoned with as such, they have no regard for women. So, Adore has been carrying this mindset since she was 15 years old and now she is 22 and has grown to maturity stage.

Adore has been rejecting any man that comes her way and even to the extent of abusing them. She doesn't want to be jilted by men just like the way they did to her mother. While she was in the higher institution, a guy walked straight to her and asked her out. The next thing she could do was to pour him dirty water. The guy was so patient enough not to wallop her with hands instead let go of her.

Matthew is a nice guy who loves his studies and does not want to have anything to do without facing his studies squarely. He was on the same level with Adore and has been teaching all his mates tutorials during weekends. This has been his passion and truly everyone loves him and wants to be with him. Matthew has been having feelings for Adore but does not know how to speak up. So, one day, Adore was having problems with a particular mathematical question regarding the assignment given to them and so, she decided to walk up to Matthew for assistance. When she got to where he was, she told him that "please, Mat...can you put me through this mathematical Question? Matthew was behaving as if he did not hear what she said not until Adore tapped him on his back. Matthew was just staring at her and so was Adore just as if they both had something in common.

Matthew did the work for her and put her through. This made Adore so excited and told Matthew that "Mat…I think I will be coming for assistance if we are drawing closer to exams period." Matthew responded, "alright, I hope to see you next time".

After three weeks, Adore and Matthew became friends and the best of friends. Matthew has been the one saving his mates from mathematics since he was the only one that knows how to explain problems related to math to his mates' understanding. So, anytime he is with some set girls teaching them, Adore would be jealous. She does not want to see him with any other girl apart from her. So, Matthew began to show Adore love and true love. Matthew always buys Adore clothes and foodstuffs out of his savings. Adore on the other hand do prepare a nice dish for Matthew as if they have something together or they have promised each other before. This has been going on for some time now and Matthew does not know how to tell Adore or relate his feelings to her. The same goes to Adore as she has gotten feelings that happened to be pure for Adore.

While she is sat lonely, she begins to remember her mum's words that men are cheaters and are not to be trusted. It was then she realized that her mum did not play her part so well. She said to herself that maybe her mum did not give attention to finding the one who loves her. But how did she end up with my dad? Why did my mum tell.me.nit.to give any boy attention.? I have to find out. Adore said to herself.

They are on holiday and Adore had to go home straight after saying goodbye to Mat. On getting home, the first statement she made was "mum, I have something to ask you. Her mum said to her to say whatever she has to say. Why did you give me that kind of advice? Why did you tell me that I should not give any guy attention? The story you told me, was it fake or real? These are questions Adore asked her mum. Her mum responded with a smile. She was laughing harder and told Adore "my daughter, I told you the story so that you will learn from it and know how to behave with men. The story was not true and I just want you to use that story to find yourself a better man and a man who can take good care of you and also a man whom you love to the fullest." Now that you ask all these questions means you have seen someone attached to you. Am I right? Adore smiled and retired to her room.

There are ways we can advise our children so that they will not have wrong thoughts towards people.
