Christmas was around the corner everywhere was buzzing with excitement and the air was filled with the good old festive spirit which Christmas was known for.
The people of Skywalker were not left out from this excitement and skywalker always outshined other communities in terms of decorations.
They always made sure that every nook and cranny was well lit and decorated with various christmas decorative materials and when one passes through Skywalker at nights one would conclude that the place was the real heaven on earth.
The population of the people of Skywalker was very small and is in fact the smallest of all the communities that surround the area so with that fact every member of Skywalker knew themselves well.
They were at least 20 families which made up the entire population of Skywalker and of those families included the Wilson Family which was made up of Mr Francis Wilson,Mrs Rose Wilson and their only child Jennifer 'jenny' Wilson.
They were one of the most popular family around due to the way they were close as a family and so many families tried to copy their daily lifestyles.
Jennifer 'jenny' Wilson was a sweet and lovely 10 year old girl whose infectious smile and good manners earned her many friends and many adult would normally give her candies because of her good behaviours.
She and her friends made sure that everywhere was well decorated and clean for Christmas and she spearheaded all the activities.
Now the people of Skywalker had an age long tradition which would continue for a very long time,every Christmas Eve the 20 families of Skywalker and anybody who cared to join would gather round a giant christmas tree which had been sitting at the center of Skywalker for generations and the family whose turn it was to light the tree would light it and everyone would form a giant circle round the tree and sing the popular christmas song O' christmas tree which they would sing from 11:55pm to 12:00Am then after they would all families would return back to their homes and prepare for the massive christmas feast which would hold on Christmas night,they would sit together at a big table and each family would present their well prepared foods and gifts would be exchanged then various fun activities would take place before every family would retire to their homes.
This year's Christmas was the turn of the Wilson family to light the Christmas tree and normally everybody expected Jenny to be excited because this was the first time she would get the opportunity to light the Christmas tree but unknown to them Jenny was in her room crying and her mother was doing her best to comfort her but all to avail,she had received a horrible news a day to the Christmas Eve HER FATHER WHO HAD PROMISED TO COME BACK HOME ON TIME WON'T RETURN FOR CHRISTMAS.
Francis who was an offshore engineer was deployed overseas six months ago and jenny had been eagerly expecting her dad who was her best friend to come back and the three of them would light the Christmas tree but unfortunately due to the alarming amount of snow fall that year they had to cancel the flight that would have taken him home.
Francis was devasted but he gathered courage and called his family via facetime and informed them about the incident,the news broke Jenny completely who abandoned the call and ran upstairs to her room crying but her mom followed closely behind and tried to cheer up her daughter.
Jenny darling you know that your father would have done everything to come back because he knows how important tomorrow night is for you but the circumstances are not favourable but he promised to come back immediately the weather clears okay my baby? Rose told her daughter compassionately
Ok mom I'm sorry for running away i will try and enjoy it without dad Jenny said tearfully to make her mom happy
Rose went downstairs and prepared something delicious for Jenny so as to try and pacify her,when she was done she took it to her room and feed her which made Jenny cheer up a bit.
The entire seemed gloomy for Jenny who went out to play with her friends but still she wasn't happy and it did not take much time before they noticed and when they asked her she broke down again and they had to take her back home, everybody was sad because Jenny was a sweetheart who made everybody around her happy but now that she was sad nobody could comfort her.
The next day arrangements were made for the night although everybody was sad due to Jenny's sadness they still decorated everywhere and at night everybody gathered and waited for the Wilson's to light the tree meanwhile Jenny refused to go outside if her dad was not going to be there but her mom begged her
Please Jenny you know that everybody wants to see you happy and if you refuse to come out they would be sad and the Christmas spirit would be ruined, okay at least come out and assist me in lighting it at least please you might never know the magic you would see outside Rose begged her daughter
Okay mummy i will assist you because i don't want anybody to be sad today most especially you she said and gave her mom a beautiful smile
Rose kissed her on the forehead then took her by the hand and led her outside were everybody was waiting patiently,they proceeded to the tree and someone from the crowd of people shouted
Don't be sad Jenny believe in the Christmas spirit
Jenny recognized the voice and when she turned to see the person it was her DAD!!!
Daadddyyy!!!!!!!!! She screamed in excitement and ran with all her strength and rushed into the awaiting arms of her Father.
Jenny my darling don't be so sad it's Christmas Eve he said stroking her hair
You said that you weren't coming back what happened dad? She asked joyfully
The people of skywalker noticed that Jenny was sad went and asked her mom who explained the situation then they got into action and arranged for a private plane which brought Francis back that night then they decided to surprise her and her mom was in on the act.
When Francis explained how he got back Jenny hugged him tightly again then turned to the people and said
Thank you everyone for this beautiful present you gave me she said happily
Thank you mom for making me happy she said to her mom who was already shedding tears of joy
The Wilson family then proceeded to light the Christmas tree and everyone gathered around the tree and sang the Christmas song which could be heard from a distance.
There is nothing more important in this world than family and on this festive period gather your family members and celebrate this holiday season.
