Once upon a time in the west of London lived a young girl called Elizabeth, this girl was the only child of two traditional people and because of that, her life was starved of all forms of what we could call magic.
Her parents having only her, shielded Elizabeth from the world to a point where she wasn't allowed to have friends or even go to school; their excuse being that they didn't want to lose her.
For this reason, Elizabeth grew up very isolated, she would often sit at her window during the afternoons watching other children laugh and play, wondering how it would feel if she had the chance.
On her 15th birthday, Elizabeth promised herself that the moment she turned 18, she would run away so she could experience the wonders of the world but, when she did, her parents fell sick and she was stuck catering to them.
Months and years passed by and Elizabeth finally gave up on the dream that she was going to see the world, in her head, it was too late, and even if she had the opportunity, she wouldn't be able to afford it.
She continued living in her not-so-happy life trying her best to get by until one fateful day when she got a call on their landline.
“Hello, who is this?”
“Well, hello, I am a telemarketer and I am here to sell you a device that can enable you to do anything,” the voice said.
“Do anything? I haven't heard of any device like that, what is it called?” Elizabeth asked.
“This device is called a phone and trust me you can do anything, from using it to order food to call friends”
“Uhmm, Mr. can I see the world with it?”
“Of course, you can, would you want this device?”
“Yes, I do”
The call ended with the telemarketer telling Elizabeth that he was going to be delivering the device in 10 days and for those 10 days, Elizabeth could barely breathe, her whole mood had changed and she saw herself singing throughout the day.
“I am going to see the world” she often said randomly with a laugh.
On the night before the device came, Elizabeth didn't sleep, and on the day of the delivery, she spent hours waiting at the gate.
She had waited for hours and was about to give up when she saw the mail man coming to their gate with a parcel which she hastily snatched while screaming “Thank you, Sir”.
After taking the device, she ran to her room to open it so she could see the world but, when she opened the parcel, she couldn't understand how this device made of plastic could help her fulfill her dreams.
Elizabeth not wanting to give up decided to read the manual and after doing that, she started clicking on it like a crazy person, and before she knew it, she fell into her phone and appeared in Paris.
Paris was so beautiful and she was so excited about seeing everything so, she began exploring the city from restaurants to parks.
When she was done exploring, she clicked on the phone and appeared back in her bedroom like she had never left, and in Elizabeth's heart, she knew that a life of wonder finally awaited her.
